This weekend was great for riding! Schnucki and I rode up to Frankenstein's castle, near Darmstadt, which is always a cool place to visit. We got there just in time to watch about 50 Goths finish a wedding ceremony. Talk about freaky!!! I sure hope you had as great a weekend as Schnucki and I did.

American Motorcycle Association - Vintage Motorcycle Days 27 - 29 July in Lexington Ohio
Hey all! Don't forget about the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days on 27 - 29 July in Lexington Ohio.
The Sportster will be honored this year and the AMA is looking for Sportster owners who would like to participate in the many Sportster related events. All paid attendees with a Sportster will pay nothing to put their Sportster into the "Sportster Corral" which will be a special SPORTSTER ONLY parking area.
If enough XL Forum members register in advance they have also promised to mark off a special XL Forum area.
This is THE Sportster event of the century and will probably not occur again for 25 to 50 years.
Be sure to RSVP on the XL Forum calendar to indicate which days you plan to attend. This way those of you who will be attending on the same days can meet up and have a mini XL Forum meet.

Here is a note from Will Stoner from the American Motorcyclist Association.
"I strongly encourage all listers (all Sportster owners for that matter) to bring their Sportsters, K models and XR750s to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days July 27-29, 2007 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio and display it in the “Sportster Corral”, even if we do not select the bike for the Sportster Museum Tent. I'm not a Sportster expert, but your bike sounds rare, thus making it more likely to be selected for the Museum Tent.
Participation in the Sportster Corral will be free to all paid attendees with a Sportster, XR or K model Harley-Davidson. Participants are requested to register in advance, but it is not required.
A select group of the most significant pre-registered machines will be featured in the Sportster “Museum" tent. All participants will receive a special “dash plaque” commemorating the event and other benefits exclusive to corral and rally participants.
Additionally, we will be presenting a Sportster Rally that will feature special benefits and attractions for rally participants, including: A special rally and camping area in the Infield, access to the exclusive Mid-Ohio Deck viewing area, T shirt and a special autograph session with the 2007 VMD Grand Marshals Willie G. Davidson and Jay Springsteen. More specific benefits to follow. All Sportster, K model and XR clubs and groups are also welcome to participate. There will be an extra charge for the Sportster rally."

I am planning on changing the Pic of the week on Sundays so if you can bear looking at my ugly mug I'll use the next few days to introduce myself. For those that don't know, I have been on the forum for more than a year now. I bought my bike in March 05 and found the forum a few months after that looking for info on paying the Harley Tax. With all the great info and friendly people I hung around, now I am hooked and Ii check the new posts almost every day. Doing the Pic of the Week is a honor for me just like Jamman. Ii will be asking some of you for pictures and if you want your bike featured by all means please let me know and I will be happy to put them up. American Motorcycle Association - Vintage Motorcycle Days 27 - 29 July in Lexington Ohio
Hey all! Don't forget about the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days on 27 - 29 July in Lexington Ohio.
The Sportster will be honored this year and the AMA is looking for Sportster owners who would like to participate in the many Sportster related events. All paid attendees with a Sportster will pay nothing to put their Sportster into the "Sportster Corral" which will be a special SPORTSTER ONLY parking area.
If enough XL Forum members register in advance they have also promised to mark off a special XL Forum area.
This is THE Sportster event of the century and will probably not occur again for 25 to 50 years.
Be sure to RSVP on the XL Forum calendar to indicate which days you plan to attend. This way those of you who will be attending on the same days can meet up and have a mini XL Forum meet.

Here is a note from Will Stoner from the American Motorcyclist Association.
"I strongly encourage all listers (all Sportster owners for that matter) to bring their Sportsters, K models and XR750s to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days July 27-29, 2007 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio and display it in the “Sportster Corral”, even if we do not select the bike for the Sportster Museum Tent. I'm not a Sportster expert, but your bike sounds rare, thus making it more likely to be selected for the Museum Tent.
Participation in the Sportster Corral will be free to all paid attendees with a Sportster, XR or K model Harley-Davidson. Participants are requested to register in advance, but it is not required.
A select group of the most significant pre-registered machines will be featured in the Sportster “Museum" tent. All participants will receive a special “dash plaque” commemorating the event and other benefits exclusive to corral and rally participants.
Additionally, we will be presenting a Sportster Rally that will feature special benefits and attractions for rally participants, including: A special rally and camping area in the Infield, access to the exclusive Mid-Ohio Deck viewing area, T shirt and a special autograph session with the 2007 VMD Grand Marshals Willie G. Davidson and Jay Springsteen. More specific benefits to follow. All Sportster, K model and XR clubs and groups are also welcome to participate. There will be an extra charge for the Sportster rally."

I am planning on changing the Pic of the week on Sundays so if you can bear looking at my ugly mug I'll use the next few days to introduce myself. For those that don't know, I have been on the forum for more than a year now. I bought my bike in March 05 and found the forum a few months after that looking for info on paying the Harley Tax. With all the great info and friendly people I hung around, now I am hooked and Ii check the new posts almost every day. Doing the Pic of the Week is a honor for me just like Jamman. Ii will be asking some of you for pictures and if you want your bike featured by all means please let me know and I will be happy to put them up.
