Lots of people have raised their tanks on here. Why are you doing it?...for the looks?....to hide the wiring harness underneath? Where to start to me would be figuring out how high you want to lift it. Trying searching for "Tank lift" in the google search at the bottom of this page or the search function at the top. Here was one result:

jp cycles has a 1" or 2" lift kit for sporty tanks.
SEARCH THE FORUM
there are quite a few on here that have done it.
frisco tank, raised tank etc. there are quite a few good pics to be seen if you search old threads.

the questions is ,all i have to do is add the two brackets on the front or do i need to do something to the rear? and do u have a pic of that wire tuck u were talkin about? and is there any problems with it picking up the gas with the tank leaning back thanx adam

just add the brckets to the front nothing to worry about in the rear. I havent noticed a huge difference in the gas pickup millage looks to be about the same. If anything the light comes on a little earlier but you still have about a gallon of fuel when it does come on. The wire tuck is easy once you have the tank lift all you need to do is remove all the wires from the plastic harness and tape up any exsposed wires with electrical tape (dont have to but i did) and zip tie the wire harness to the top of the back bone. you will have plenty of room but i sugest you try and place your harness plugs on the backbone in a way that they dont sit on top of each other. I dont have any pictures but it seriously only took me about 20 min once i took the tank off to do the job.
