I just finished installing my chromed Fatbot rear wheel on my scoot and I love it. Not only does it shine like a diamond with the new polished rear rotor it is sush a breeze to clean up compared to the old cast wheel. I get some sort of streaking crap on the rear wheel and this wheel is soooo easy to clean. I love it. I think the streaks come from the breather line under teh bike, not sure, only thing I can come up with.
I do have a question. Is there anyway to switch the older type roller and race type bearings to the new sealed bearings. I am running pre-99 wheels and woul dlike to switch to the new style bearings if any way exist.
New pics soon.

Yes, I know that pics would have made this post a whole lot better. Was going to take some last night but it seems my wife's flowers and mulching trumped me taking pics of my bike. But I did ask a queston in the orginal post about sealed bearings for pre-99 wheels. Does anyone know if they are availiable for the older wheels? New pics soon.

How hard was it to do? What needs changing and what size rear tyre fits?

I changed swing arm and put a 6" wheel and 8" tire on. I think you can get the 3.5" wheel and pop that one on the stock swing arm with minimal effort. The axles on the newer fatboys are 3/4".....:geek:geek:geek

Got out and took some pics of the new chrome tonight. I just added the chrome front and rear wheels, new 401's, new polished rotors, new chrome rear master cylinder, upgraded front forks to 39 mm from the stock 35 mm, had to upgrade to the 2000 and later 4 piston front caliper due to a big screw up of not checking the distance between the caliper bolt holes on the left fork leg. Over all I am very happy, was about ready to cry the first time I had to use the brakes as I knew I just scuffed the new rotors. But she rides like a whole new bike. And I love that solid rear wheel.

Thanks for the link. I wondered why they only listed them for 94 or newer fronts. The speedo drive unit makes sense now. Must have something to do with the spacers. I bet I if I got one for the front I could cut down the spacer and make it work with my cabeled speedo. Think I will definetly look in to doing the rear ones the next time I have to do the bearings. Has anyone ever installed these? What is the best way to get the old races out. I love my sold rear wheel!!!:banana :banana :banana

Did you have to modify the swingarm? I see you have a deuce/vrod rr fender.
