gronk62 17th April 2005, 09:54 Damn!! There's some gooduns in there!!
Some very talented artists here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v341/gronk62/thumbani.gif
pquirk 17th April 2005, 13:50 Those are all very cool! All you folks who entered should be very proud of your abilities!
bplinson 17th April 2005, 13:50 Keep them votes a coming!!
dmraco 17th April 2005, 14:46 I love the looks of A, but dout it would make a good patch!
C it is!
Barry Clark 17th April 2005, 14:47 E all the way. I like simplicity. Let the Sportster do all the talking.
HDWildUSA1 17th April 2005, 15:03 I think they all look great. I vote for D , but like the current one being used also.
cantolina 17th April 2005, 15:11 They are all really great....kudos to the artists...
I don't want anyone to be offended by this, but I really like the old logo, and would vote to keep it....if that were an option...
As far as the entries, I REALLY like A and E, but would like to see them with just a motor?? The full bike seems to be too much to replicate on patches, etc....

Reeky 17th April 2005, 16:23 D. I would change the muffs to SEIIs or straights.
Jimbo999 17th April 2005, 16:29 I like C but put a gas cap on the Tank and make the outside Border black ( For sewing purposes )
Broncodog 17th April 2005, 16:29 D. I would change the muffs to SEIIs or straights.
I'm with you, that would look much better!
GOTWA 17th April 2005, 17:11 WOW! Some very cool stuff!!!
I just want to say that I don't think "A" would transfer well to thread, too much detail, but would make an AWESOME link banner.
:clap to everyone.
Shark Doctor 17th April 2005, 17:30 Damn...
So... why just one?! Very well done to the artists in the group!!!
:clap :shhhh :shhhh
HrdlyDangrs 17th April 2005, 17:56 All the designs are great!! All would make for a nice Patch or decal. I particularly like the E. and D. designs. I considered submitting a design similiar to (D) with some of the notations that follow, so that's why.....
I Voted for (D) with following notations:
1) The background design is very retro...COOL. It conveys early Nostalgia and modern design.
2) The engine is Modern...thats OK TOO...BUT, If it were possible, a Sportster motor showing two style of Head/Rocker covers would really be something.
The REAR cylinder/head and valve cover should be that of a 1957 with the FRONT cylinder/head and valve cover that of the Modern EVO as depicted in the current design logo.
Though I never cared much for the 'Ham Can' airfilter of H-D's, the design does span Harleys early to late Sporty years and fits well in this Logo design.
The Exhaust pipes with big mufflers have to go...should be changed to straight pipes?....or perhaps the 'Shorty' style mufflers that were used for many years and are still available today.
The current pipes/mufflers seem a little out of proportion to the motor size. Should resemble 1-3/4 in diameter and mufflers more narrow. As they look now, they look like they'd be 2-1/2 Dia compared to the size of the motor depicted. Maybe its just me??
Please note...I am not criticizing...just making some personal observation. If this logo wins, a second revised image showing above alternatives would be welcomed. Great Artwork otherwise!! Should transfer well to a decal/patch. Kudos to all submitters for being able to get their Artwork up on the screen!! :smoke
earthoverdrive 17th April 2005, 18:04 I like C but put a gas cap on the Tank and make the outside Border black ( For sewing purposes )
I agree. C will get my vote!!
phreak 17th April 2005, 18:40 I don't think it's a good idea to be revealing which one you voted for here. It might sway the voting. Great work by everyone. It was hard to choose which one. :shhhh :laugh
:clap
gunlocators 17th April 2005, 20:13 I don't think it's a good idea to be revealing which one you voted for here. It might sway the voting. Great work by everyone. It was hard to choose which one. :shhhh :laugh

Good suggestions...
Personally, I'd like to see a crossover on this design, as well...
bplinson 19th April 2005, 07:54 Be sure and vote today!!
Ole 19th April 2005, 13:39 They all look great!
My personal choice? I like D... but maybe eliminate the pipes...? If the pipes are kept then I would like to see the old style crossover and either straight pipes or turnout mufflers... my $.02...
Good job everyone!
txsporty 19th April 2005, 16:15 They all look GREAT!!!!! :clap :clap
I tend to favor D, but I think it should have the old style "Ham Can" !!!
Just my .02!! :D
01Sporty 19th April 2005, 17:31 Congrats to everyone who worked on the designs.
I agree, I woulD never consiDer telling everyone which one I voteD for.
Sorry, D just has so much that I personally liked. I would like to see the red replaced by orange though. Orange & Sporty just seem to go together.
FredrikK 19th April 2005, 18:44 C with a little fix up
TiBaal89 19th April 2005, 19:14 No contest! D all the way. :D
planb 19th April 2005, 19:42 "D" with different pipes, or "E"....just my .01....
willprevale 19th April 2005, 22:01 Hands down... D is my choice. It's classic.
TechRep 20th April 2005, 00:28 D Has great graphics!!! Kinda' like a "D" cup!!!! :yikes
74FeHeadXLH 20th April 2005, 00:35 Hat's off to all who entered, all entries are good...I like "D" the best, classic look :clap so Bert, when can we get 'em?
SixMilesFromHell 20th April 2005, 02:38 I voted for D. I think any suggestions for changes should be disregarded. If you wanted to design a patch, you had your chance. Don't tell these creative folks what you think is wrong with their design. My $.02
gunlocators 20th April 2005, 02:45 I voted for D. I think any suggestions for changes should be disregarded. If you wanted to design a patch, you had your chance. Don't tell these creative folks what you think is wrong with their design. My $.02
Everyone has thier own opinions. Personally I like D as it is. I have to hand it to all the designers they did a great job... :clap
HrdlyDangrs 20th April 2005, 03:14 I voted for D. I think any suggestions for changes should be disregarded. If you wanted to design a patch, you had your chance. Don't tell these creative folks what you think is wrong with their design. My $.02
No one is criticising anyones design work. Some of us are suggesting variables to the final design should it be voted in. Whether any of the suggestions are considered by the original designer or Bert is up to them.
We all stated that we liked all the designs outright. :smoke
Russ 20th April 2005, 03:40 If D were a sticker, I'd put it on my car. And I've got no HD stickers on my car, so that should tell you how much I like it.
Heck... If D were a patch, I'd finally buy a vest. :D
RogueFTW 20th April 2005, 10:33 For a back patch I'd say B, otherwise D
Jt1200r 20th April 2005, 12:09 i like D put on SE pipes and ac
redfox 20th April 2005, 12:22 D is perfect for a sticker or smaller patch.
B is very good, too and it would look nice
for a colour on our backs.
Any problems expected with the red and white
at the B-version ? *grin*
D is best: Neutral colours, good size and great
graphical art - what else do we need ?
GRAYFEATHER 20th April 2005, 12:33 De same for Da me
Grayfeather.
Ole 20th April 2005, 12:44 I voted for D. I think any suggestions for changes should be disregarded.
I personally don't think anyone should ever disregard a suggestion. To do so would be to deem oneself flawless and thusly project egotistical tendencies. One should always contemplate a suggestion to deem whether or not it has merit. If it does indeed make a good point then one should decide whether or not to act on that suggestion or to leave things ‘as is.’ Acceptance of constructive criticism is a learned mannerism and one that should be instilled in all of us.
If you wanted to design a patch, you had your chance.
True…but not all of us had the time. Looking at the submissions I'd have to say that we left it in the hands of some very talented individuals!
Don't tell these creative folks what you think is wrong with their design.
I personally didn't say that anything was wrong with their designs. What I did say is:
… maybe eliminate the pipes...? If the pipes are kept then I would like to see the old style crossover and either straight pipes or turnout mufflers... my $.02…
That’s a “maybe” and an “I would like to see”…not a, “You should change it because I said so.” Also, what makes you think that any of the others here aren’t creative and can’t possibly have anything worthwhile to contribute to the discussion? I’d like to think that in my five years of Fine Arts study that I’d have something valuable to give to a discussion about design... but maybe not…
My $.02
That’s exactly what all of our posts were, our own opinion…yet ours aren’t okay and yours is? Seems to be a kind of, "If I wanted your opinion I'd give it to you" statement to me... :hmmm
bplinson 22nd April 2005, 08:31 I think we already all know who the winner is gonna be here but I am gonna bump this one more time before the voting is finished.
DustyJacket 22nd April 2005, 16:00 E with engine only.
Second choice is D without the pipes.
