I am planning on the wide glide trees for my xl, however my goal is running into problems. I was told that I should be able to run a fatboy front wheel when I have done this, however, when I contacted custom chrome they told me that because I would still have 39mm's that the break rotor and caliper would not line up. This doesnt make sense to me. It seems that if you have the width after the tree conversion it would't make a difference. So now I am stuck. But I have also found a few folks who have the fat boy front end on their bike, who I cannont get any info from. CAN I...get my hands on a fatboy front end and just slap her on? It seems that would give me my ultimate goal the easyest way. The question is WILL IT WORK.

Yes as far as I know you can do this but you may have to change the bearing cups. The best place to check is your custom bike shop. A harley mechanic that has been around for a while and has done parts swapping will know. If your not having any luck let me know I can find our for sure what it takes. I have seen lots of fat front tires and even Fatboy front wheels on the sporty so it cannot be impossible.
