Just got my 3" HF AC and have a question on installing the support bracket/breather kit.

The breather kit comes with three clear plastic washers and I am not completely clear on where they go.

I am going to assume that the support bracket/breather goes on in this order:

1. Breather Bolt
2. Clear washer
3. Support bracket
4. Clear washer
5. Banjo Bolt
6. Clear washer

Is this correct? Also do I need to use any kind of sealant on the washers or just bolt it all up dry? I am aware that the breather bolts require blue loktite.

That's about it Bert..... I'd make sure you have a chrome or at least steel washer under the bolt head, as it may chew the sealing washer....but that's just me bein careful..

Basicly you're after a sealing washer between each metal surface...I use copper ones

they should be fine by themselves but a smear of Permatex Aviation gasket sealant #3 is what I use in that application

I installed it this way...

1)Banjo bolt
2)Chrome washer
3)Plastic washer (cut from a sheet protector I'm sure)
4)Breather "bolt"
5)Chrome washer
6)Plastic washer
7)Carb bracket
8)Chrome washer
9)Plastic washer
10)Head breather hole

Overkill?

I'd drop 5 and 8 ...but that's just me...if it don't leak, then leave it

Coupla last questions. The breater kit only came with one carb gasket which I know goes between the carb and support bracket. Should I also put a gasket between the support bracket and AC back plate?

That is what I was thinking.

Yeah, it's been brought to my attention that the AC needs another gasket tossed in, and I've got'em on order. It's an inexpensive item, on the order of 50 cents, there's no reason *not* to include it. Purely neglect on my part, sorry about that. I'm fixing it.

Thanks Aaron, but like you said it is a 50 cent item so it is not a problem. Gives me a reason to ride down to the local dealer and BS for a while.
