Hi,

I'm not a big fan of orange indicators!, so I bought the smoked lenses, but wasn't a fan of the fried egg look that is the result of orange bulbs behing a clear/smoked lens. options were coated orange bulbs or LED's, so i went with the LED clusters. they look stunning but the problem I'm having is that because (I think..) they are so much lower current draw than a filament bulb, the on-board electronics detect somethings up and flashes them faster (like a warning that one of the conventional bulbs has blown). This happens after three slow flashes. Also, after the indicators are swithed on for the first time, the red key light on the speedo lights up.

I hope someone has already done the same before and can recommend adding resistors or something to correct the problem

p.s If anyone is interested to see how the new indicators look, i can upload a picture.

Cheers,
David

I have tried to locate orange led bulbs for mine (I have clear lenses) but was told they don't work properly on Harleys because of the self cancelling system, as you mention there is not enough current. I also tried a red led tail bulb and that did not work properly either.

hi,

the self cancelling works fine, the only problem is with the flashing speed.

What was the problem with the tail light?, and what bulbs are you using for your indicators now?

Cheers,
David.

I only went on what the supplier told me (adreneline sports). The tail light led bulb I got locally and it just stays on full all the time and when you press the pedal/lever the centre part activates as well, almost like it is in reverse mode.

Because of the lower current draw of the led's, the turn signal module gets confused. You need a load equilizer.
