Not to mention having your ass torched by the front exaust pipe. I have a feeling that they forgot to put the seat on for pics. nzsailor 20th April 2005, 06:06 prithee tell why are we boycotting the nymma 82ndJumper 20th April 2005, 08:35 that thing is a pile of crap 82ndJumper 20th April 2005, 08:38 Just noticed the web for this thing, my brother met this guy. he had one word for him. JACKASS GRAYFEATHER 20th April 2005, 12:03 Its art and as art it good I kinda like it. Grayfeather. engine 21st April 2005, 02:55 prithee tell why are we boycotting the nymma Most of the white collar higher-ups treat blue collar workers (likemyself) as though they were dirt. Not nice people. There are a select few that made my job there enjoyable for a couple brief moments. Two-Bit Choppers 21st April 2005, 05:13 82nd Jumper, Tell us how you really feel. Truthfully there are things I like about this bike and there are things I hate about this bike, but I've got enough class to keep my criticisms to myself rather than spewing off and slamming a bike, that love it or hate it, someone obviously worked pretty hard building. Like my dear old granddad used to say, "If you don't have anything nice to say keep your mouth shut or someone's libel to shut it for you." just my two-bits though, Justin Moonpie 21st April 2005, 19:15 I like the way it sits, but it is a barhopper at most! That dropped seat is not comfortable at all. But that is just me. My mind is getting younger, but my body is going in a different direction. HrdlyDangrs 22nd April 2005, 23:37 Yeah, 'AMEN'....get it...another religous wannabe asswipe biker....'A-HOLE' is more like it!! I like'd when Billy Lane stated he didn't care for this this asswipe. This religious wacko ran his mouth off about Billy's life style and other Bikers like myself. I wouldn't give him $5.00 for that piece of shit...never mind $37,000!! I don't care if someone is 'Religious' or 'Born Again'...just don't get pissed off when you can't fit in with us 'Sinners' and then try to be like us only somehow 'Better?? and go around running your mouth off to the press or talk shit among your fellow 'Born Again Bad Asses' in your Church. Yeah right....GO F :censor K YOURSELVES!! :smoke dwardy 22nd April 2005, 23:58 I tend to base my opinions (regarding almost anything) on not only the product itself, but also the people who manufacture and sell that product. I've read interviews with this guy from Amen and he comes across as a real jackoff. It was certainly solidified with his appearance on the build-off. He came across the same way there. He apparently has no respect for anyone who doesn't share his particular beliefs. He belittles others who don't fit into "his" version of moral normalcy and he certainly seems waaay too preoccupied with how others live their lives. He came right out and said that he spent his younger years "living that lifestyle" and suddenly it's no damn good for anyone else? What a friggin' hypocrite. He's like the former smoker who is constantly on your ass about smoking. Just STFU already. There was one particular scene on the buildoff where the whole family is sitting around the dinner table eating and celebrating the end of the build. He's sitting at the head of the table, the king of his castle, and for a moment I had this vision in my head of him beating the shit out of his wife and kids while he's screamin' holy scripture at 'em. Well for that reason alone, I think his bike is a piece of crap. Silly opinion? Perhaps, but it's my silly opinion. 75oldschool 23rd April 2005, 14:43 amen brother.now can i get a halaluya.let all pray together!:p cantolina 23rd April 2005, 15:02 Nice to look at I suppose... Worth exactly 1 engine, 2 wheels and .37 cents a pound afterward.... That math ain't 37,000.... To be honest, I don't know this guy from Adam, but I have to agree....if you don't like the owner OR the builder, it might be hard to appreciate the bike... Personally, I dislike this bike (as in, wouldn't own one) on its own merits.... If there are other reasons....then... COOL! ;) leo_frantic 23rd April 2005, 18:16 Apparently I have no "class" because I have to say that bike is basically an ugly ripoff off the RE Mutant. That Amen guy is pretty good at rippin' stuff off, and he's a hypocrite piece of sh**. Wait ... I was wrong. That WAS classy in my opinion. And by the way, I LIVE for someone wanting to step up and "shut it for me." wagoneer12 23rd April 2005, 18:27 Religion, almost as good as politics for stirring up the beasts inside of us. :p Anyway, I don't know this guy at all. Looking at the bike, it looks like most all of the custom bikes nowadays that no regular Joe can afford. I suppose it looks o.k. I like seeing the sporty engine used. I just don't get this whole "chopper movement". People with too much money fuel it, I suppose. engine 23rd April 2005, 18:43 You gys crack me up. I don't give a !!!! about religion., I know a couple of "Born again" people, and they're pretty much all the same. If you don't find Jesus, you're gonna burn in hell...whatever... I knew in the back of my head this post would bring up some issues. I don't know this guy, and I don't care. I'll probably never meet him and I don't care. I'll probably never buy his (or any custom) bike either. Like someone said before. It's nice to look at. Chip 24th April 2005, 01:25 I could find better things to do with my left over parts! Two-Bit Choppers 26th April 2005, 04:58 Some people's kids.... I posted what I did because a guy with a stock Sporty save for the factory's pipe and air filter upgrade, which he probably didn't even install himself, runs his mouth saying something hand-build is a piece of crap. Truthfully I don't think much of it either, and I know for a fact that Mr. Brown is trying very hard to tap into (steal) some of Redneck's business with it. What pissed me off and drove me to reply was somebody playing Monday morning quarterback with somebody else's work. Wasn't long ago someone took pictures off my website of my bike and posted them here for everyone to slam before I ever even knew there was such a thing as XL Forum. I only heard about it second hand and by the time I got around to checking it out there were already almost three pages of comments on it. Some good (thank you), some bad. I thought it was ironic though that after I joined the board and posted a reply that none of the guys who had been so free in saying it was a piece of s*#t before posted another word. My point being, if you wouldn't say something to somebody's face don't say it from the safety and annonimity of your keyboard. On this Amen bike, I sell RE frames and would actually like nothing more than for Amen to never sell a single one of these, because if they do it's directely effecting my market share. That being said, I don't think I'd sit through a whole beer in the same room as Mike Brown, but that doesn't mean any scratch-built bike doesn't get a little bit of respect from me because I know the work that goes into it. I'd never justify the way this guy lives, or the way he looks down on other people for their lifestyle, but that doesn't mean I'm going to knock his in turn as that makes me just as much of a hypocrite as he is. Truth is I got in an arguement with him a while back over some parts he had made with the Superman crest. I told him to watch his ass because DC Comic's lawyers were no doubt going to be calling to which he responded I should mind my business. Sure enough not soon after that the lawyers called, wrote and arrived on his doorstep and the parts disappeared from the market. Even with all that though, I choose to take the tact the late Indian Larry did with other people in the industry - if you don't dig somebody's stuff, find a way to be polite about it, or don't say anything at all. You never saw Larry criticize anyone else's work - ever - no matter how much you knew it flew in the face of what he liked, and I do my best to toe the same line. Because at the end of the day it's still better to have a lot more friends and a lot less enemies. Just my opinion though. Maybe I'm wrong. 883Hugger 26th April 2005, 05:04 Nicely put Two-bit choppers.... Big_Baazzoo 26th April 2005, 06:41 But I gotta say, bikes like this photograph nice... a Piece O' Cheesecake... |
