P-head (Parrott that is) and went on a little (just shy of 500 mile for me) run today and stopped at a couple of dealers.

One, Blockers HD in the Poconos, was a little much for my old heart to take!

I gotta figure out a way to get one of these.

I have to say the plastic bodywork looked PERFECT, as in really really good.

So what's your favorite color??

Man, just saw one of the Euro-only XR1200X......WOWZA!!!!:eek

It's kinda like a daark custom XR1200....blacked out with all the super high-tech suspension goodies like on the sportbikes.

So what's your favorite color??

Orange.

I like em all, even the black which is a surprise for me.

But the Orange looks SOOO RIGHT (well, the silver does too).

I figured something out yesterday. The plastic body panels on these things make em just like the new Ducati Monsters (they have a plastic rear section and plastic tank cover, and they are available in a dozen different colors, so you can buy another set and swap it out like that).

So I figured what I need to do, I gotta wait for the XR1200X (right Groovie) to show up here (cause I'd want that suspension and I prefer the blacked out motor and pipes), then buy a set of the Orange body work.

I'd have a completely black and Orange Harley. It would rock.

BTW, it's hard to tell from the photo, but in the dealership lights, the plastic on the Orange honestly looked as good and rich and deep as Harley's traditional paint on tins!

So clean and bright they looked WET - which is really from where the title for this thread came so to speak.

Yea. I was surprised how much better the bodywork looked in person when I saw my first. Think I'd go orange too. (not that I'd buy one)

Oh trust me I've already checked that out on I think it was the UK website - and word has it the big piston fork used on it is the same set-up Kawi uses on their 600ss bikes.

thats awesome. if i was to buy one in Europe would i be able to bring it back to the states?

Groovie Ghoulie
6th September 2009, 22:50
No, they have crazy import laws bringing them back to the states. I have already tried. it would cost almost 3 times the value of the bike, and would take at least a year before it was allowed in (if, and not likely). And if it is denied they usually crush the bike instead of releasing it from customs. At least thats what I have been told when I tried to look into bringing one back. wait till 2011, europe got the XR a year early anyway. they seem to be the test bed for the new models

Yeah, I kinda expect the XRX will be available here either at the mid-year (Winter) dealer meeting, or next summer with the 2011 models.

I'll be watching...

Picture this. Homer Simpson drooling over a donut. That is how Bone looked. I wandered about trying to find the rest room, then waited for the lady who could not figure out how to work the vending machine, and came back to find Bone had only moved enough to take out his camera and snap that pic and to send a picture to his wife.

"Marge, do we have anything to eat while I wait, this microwave is too slowwwwwwwwwww"

:wonderlan

Not only did I stand there like a complete Zombie staring at those XRs, I did it 2 more times the same day when we stopped at 2 other dealers (though no other dealers had all 3 colors).

And when my wife got the pic/text message, all she said was "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Was that "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I guess I am not getting my new bike!" or "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I know what to get you for your birthday" :D

You should def check the new 1200x. It came to my dealership yesterday. I was sceptical about it but woah.. the engine finish is great and the black color looks very good. They could do those shocks earlier tho..

Wowww.... that bike looks so good!!!!
Does somebody knows if this XR1200X is a "Europe" only or "Export" only model???? I think I saw a picture of it in the Canda MoCo website....
If they are sending it to Latin America, I'll trade it up for my 1200R>>>>
