Just heard about this on the news this morning, but sounds like a great cause. As usual, the Stations web site is almost worthless, but I found this much:
A fundraiser set to help the son of a murdered Mount Pleasant woman is nearing.
Mary Babb was killed in the parking lot of the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun on January 9th. She was leaving work for the day.
Mary’s parents, Roger and Janie Anderson, now have custody of her 3-year-old son Sam.
They are trying to plan for his future. A family friend set up "Ride-4-Sam" to help fund his education. The Andersons say it's exactly what Mary would have wanted.
We sat down with Mary’s parents recently; they told us all about following through with Mary’s dreams for her son.
The motorcycle ride is set for Saturday June 2nd at 1 p.m. It starts in the Morning Sun parking lot and is a 100-mile journey. There will also be a raffle afterward with prizes like concert tickets to see “Kiss” and “The Scorpions.” Many cycle prizes have also been donated for the raffle.
