Here is my Dyno (post conversion).
Stock 883 heads
N2 cams
SE round Air filter
SE II slip-on's
Yost power tube

HP = 62.54
TQ = 67.28

Ps. Hey Berry, Looks like you missed your six pack by .46hp!!! I think I would rather have pulled 68.9 and bought the six pack! :rolleyes:

I demand a re-count.....

.46hp! that's only a point or two of humidity. Or a .2 or .3 AF ratio.

Damn. I wanted my beer.

Now, just think. A set of JET heads on that would crank your HP up to about 80 or so easily. Well, better pipes too.

I can't wait to redyno mine.

Yep, I'm thinking about doing some head work now!!!
The numbers seem low, but the damn thing pulls like a train. I think I like those N2's. :)

Here's the Dyno of my bike with N2s and 1200 JET heads. Stock ignition too.

Ah, yes the future... Well, since Berry has squished my present dreams flatter then a wet fart under a hydraulic press by jamming that Dyno sheet deeper then my last flight physical, :yikes and making me feel like half a man!!! :cry1 I guess I just gotta' do some head work, but that will have to wait until next winter, because I’m having too much fun on it now!!! :clap
I will be working on my extra tank, perfecting my non-existing air brush abilities doing a ghosts flame job. Black ghost flame with a blown in center. It may take me awhile, but that’s the look I'm going for. Here is an example of what I hope it will look like. :D
(Berry, I do like the numbers you got, I’m just jealous!!! :shhhh )

I have my dyno sheet from 1995 and made a 70/70. I had a very mild street port from lakeshore HD and the wrong ignition pickup at the time of the dyno run. This is before my heads were milled and completely reworked. I am a little surprised yours was not a little higher. I think it is time to buck up and get the heads. Heads seem to be the real key to significant h.p. I had n8's, dyno jet kit, teardrop a/c and a thunderheader and thats about it. Get the heads done and you will be happy. Read that alot of head tuners like working with stock 883 heads. Nahlins is the first I heard taliking about the thuderstorm heads. I would do it.

I like the paint idea. It is not all that hard. You can do it with rattle cans if you take your time and shoot the paint in the right temp and humidity. Clear coat can be used to clean up anything. Might want to use a dif. shade of red to achieve the ghost look. It will be easier for a painting novice.

Hey Barry, I noticed that your dynorun is from jet. Are you there new sales rep. I know they have been around for a while. I think I remember them from the nineties. May be time for you to test your skills at the track.

Barry -

How does that compare to your 1200 heads? Can you feel the difference with the 883s?

The problem with stock heads is ya don't know what ya got...

You can have ones that have a huge step betweeen the inserts and the ports or

You may have a set that is quite good...

This is the problem with production parts....untill you've at least done a stage one it is damn near impossible to give an accurate assesment of how much power ya gonna make....far too many variables...you can give an expected range but you CAN NOT give an accurate figure
and anyone that tells ya different is either tryin ta sell ya somethin or is tryin to form a fornicating friendship with ya ;)

That Dyno is with the 1200r heads with big valves and ports, N2s ans srock ignition. I have not yet dynod the 883 heads yet but the bike really feels like it pulls harder than before. I only have about 100 miles on it since the new pistons and rings went in so the dyno will be coming soon.

This dyno is with N3s and a TC88a twin tech. Still 1200r heads though.

The only thing I changed since this dyno is the 883 heads and that will be dynod again soon.

I didn't realize that there is so much variation in the stock heads. Mine do okay. i don't see changing them for a long time.
