Very nice for the money, they have a couple of other styles, but for a $100, I'm pleased. Also I've seen http://www.hotleathers.com listed in several mags, no knowledge of them, just saw their ads. Y2K 28th April 2005, 23:45 Do you want the best or the cheapest,I don't think you can really have both lol. I need a good summer jacket that can protect my hide and doesn't look like a sportsbike jacket (joe rocket mesh). ;) I just received a moco apparel 2005 catalog today. I had to do a double-take on the price...they are advertizing a mesh jacket for $89. It has HD written all over it so not much chance of being mistaken for rice rider. The part number is 97515-05VX Grizzly 29th April 2005, 02:49 I know it is not the safest thing to do, but when it is hot I where a t shirt. I always where jeans and boots, but seldom much upper body protection minus the helmet of course. Leather is to hot and as you said I do not like the joe rocket / crotch rocket jackets. xl-scratch 29th April 2005, 14:57 A guy I know wears a long-sleeved leather shirt in warm weather. Might be calfskin or something, pretty thin, not much protection but probably better than a t shirt or a denim jacket... GOTWA 29th April 2005, 15:19 You might give Draggin Jeans a look. They have a website. Slinkee 29th April 2005, 19:01 I just purchased a First Gear Mesh-Tex (2?) from Newenough.com. Take the wind-proof liner out of that rascal and you can get downright chilly! If it had pockets for CE armor, I'd have bought it since I've got a brand new set of CE armor hanging in my closet. rottenralph 29th April 2005, 21:10 On ebay you can get padded mesh jackets for around 70-100 bucks. They are great in hot weather. Mine is armored(can be removed) and has a zip in lining that is nice for cooler mornings. This is the shiznak. Mesh is the only way to go in the summer especially in the south. gilx 30th April 2005, 01:54 And there ain't a bit of armor in it to protect you if you go down either. And worst part is you can't add any either... Actually, this one does come with pockets for the FXRG body armor :D The problem here is there are 5 dealerships within 50 miles and nobody is carrying it :cry1 motorrunning 30th April 2005, 02:36 I wear the Gericke Edge and I really like it. Seen here for $75 http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=57-6603. It is mesh, has armor, a lining and subtle reflective piping . They also carry the Gericke Venom for $69 that may be a bit cooler. http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=57-6543 Good Luck - Motorrunning Jeffytune 30th April 2005, 07:15 Hi www.dragginjeans.com There Airflow leather jacket is just what you need, and has Kelvar. toothygrin 30th April 2005, 07:33 I'm not sure cheap and safe are always synonymous words. Here's my POV: Linkage (http://www.aerostich.com/home.php) 66impala 1st May 2005, 03:39 Its funny you mention the joe rocket mesh (air flow) jacket. I just picked one up on line for 69.00 plus shipping. No it doesnt match the bike but its great so far on the couple days ive had it out, gives good protection compared to a tee shirt. Way I see it, if there looking at me and saying look at that idiot with the jacket then they cant say they didnt see me. seagullplayer 5th May 2005, 19:01 The new leather jacket I bought this spring has a zip out linner, but it will be too hot for mid summer. Bought it at my favorite Indy, $139. I do wear a jacket alot, for the pockets mostly, but it is normally a jean jacket, Walmart $29? Summer has yet to make it here in Southern Indiana, it was 34 F when I departed for work this morning, on the bike. But the ride home should be almost 70! Suppose to be a perfect Derby Day, mid 70's no rain. :tour |
