Supertrap is now offering a 2:1 pipe for Sportsters (2004 and up). Price is about $500, and the only place I've found them is on Dennis Krik's website:

That's the nicest looking 2-1 I've seen.

Only problem is: The bike they're showing it on has forward controls. :frownthre . A little misleading since they've got it on a XL1200R. Doesn't look like it would fit with Mids. Too bad too. That is a reall nice looking pipe.

I agree, great looking pipe. Pity about the forward controls (and price).

They list that the pipe fits both Custom and Standard/Roadster models, so I amsumming that it may have a different bend. If you look at the Kerker Supermeg pipe (I believe Kerker and Supertrapp are the same company?), the bend seems a little different. It's not on a bike so it's hard to tell, but it seems it would fit a bike with mid's. I think it just doesn't the supertrapp muffler in it. If I happen to come into a few bucks, I'll be looking into one of those. The only other consideration would be the BUB Rihnhart pipes, but I like the 2:1 look.

Bassani also has a 2-1 pipe available for the '04 Sportys. I have it on my bike and love it. But I must admit to seriously digging that Supertrapp pipe. I like the tunability that Supertrapp offers. I am interested to see if it will work with rear-controls down the line.

Has anyone heard what they sound like yet?

Just finished up some research...although the bike in the pic has forwards, the pipe will work with mids as well. The pipe actually passes under the pegs. Now I need to decide...Supertrapp, Bassani, or Thunderheader.

Just an update guys...I have one of these pipes comming and it will competeing for my affection against a new Thunderheader at my dealer. So far, the thunderheader has shown minimal performance gains, but a decent sound (not better than my SEII's though). The supertrapp will need the open end cap to be competitive I think.

Let us know if you gain any ground clearance with the pipe. I do like the looks of it.

I can tell you right off that bat that I won't gain any ground clearance. I haven't seen a low evit 2:1 pie yet that doesn't LOOSE ground cleanance. The way they run and how the collector is at the bottom of the pipe is what looses it. The good news is that on a stock bike, your footpeg should hit wat before the pipe will.

I spoke to the SuperTrapp folks and was assured that the new 2-1s were tested and worked with mid-pegs as well. I have had a set on order for about a month. They expect them to ship toward the end of the month. I ordered them through Busch's Custom Choppers at the Kittanning, Pennsylvania motorcycle mall, and I believe Becky told me they were getting them from Drag Specialties

Wizwill...I'm in the same boat. The bike is just sitting at the dealer waiting for these pipes to come in. They weren't able to tell me when they'd be there though. Let me know when you get yours in, that may be a good indicator.

On the Customs you hit the pipes before you hit the pegs. I know this as I have the marks on my pipes to show for it. ;)

Same on my 1200R. Pipes hit before the pegs.
