You'll have to excuse me but I'm new to the forum thing and Buell's as well. I just bought a 2003 XB9S this week and I want to put a louder exhaust on it. Every bike that I own I put pipes on, because I believe that loud pipes save lives. Any thing to make myself more noticable to drivers is good. I did some seaching on the internet and I couldn't find where any of the normal motorcycle parts stores carry an exhaust for the bike. I don't need anything that is going to make the bike faster, it's already fast enough for me, I just want it a little louder. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Thanks for the link. I went ahead and ordered the Jardine Carbon Fiber Slip on Muffler. Will I need a new ECM for just the slip on muffler?

Just me but I would do the intake ( A/C) exhaust, and the download or ecm at the same time.:D

After doing some research I discoverd that I already have an aftermarket muffler. I've been told that I have the Buell Race muffler. Does anyone use this muffler and is it still worth switching to the Jardine.

Los of people run the race muffler, and it's getting a pretty penny on E-Bay since they are no longer making them.

If I were you, I'd make sure you don't also have the race ECM. I think they pretty much go hand in hand since the race muffler eliminates the exhaust valve and requires ECM chane or remap.

Thanks for the info. Where is the ECM located on these bikes?

I'm pretty sure the Lightnings have them under the seat.

Thanks, I found the ECM and it does say "For Race use only" on it. It's right by the battery under the seat.
