2007 Lightning XB12S
Have had her to the dealer when issue first started and after dishing out more than two bills, im still having the problem. However its now a constant issue and not a once or twice a month issue. I refuse to take her back to my local dealer and have been trying to troubleshoot the issue myself.
what I need to know now is where to locate my Voltage Regulator. I have done a search on the net and cannot find a service manual.
Anyone know offhand?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Don't know where the regulator is on a Buell.
However are you certain that you did not touch the bulb when installing? I have read that dirt or oils from your hand can cause hot spots and cause the bulb to crack.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Yep, I know about the bulbs.. and I am 100% certain thats not the issue.. Ive blown over 10 bulbs so far.. Ive had it in the shop, and they ran 225 dollars worth of tests to tell me that the middle light housing was out of place and was letting moisture in. They told me that was the problem and put a bulb there, it only puts a little light in both domes. funny how after paying that much, and still having the problem, the dealership gives me a cock and bull story that it could be caused by a totally different thing now.. unrelated to the issue I had the first time.. NO bring it an and we will figure it out, only an excuse in order to rip more money from my wallet.
I refuse to set foot in that dealership ever again..

Don't blame you.
The other cause I thought of was moisture hitting the hot bulb, but when I read you have blown a lot of them I figured most people do not ride in the rain that much.

I don't know where the reg is on a Buell either, but my BET is that its near the front of the bike...it needs the airflow for cooling...

Why not contact the General Manager of that dealership and let them know of the issue's your having. With Buell going out, they may be willing to fix it free.. Seriously. all you got to lose is a phone call..

Voltage reg, should be down in front of engine, mounted on frame tubes @3x4"alum box {black anodize} with cooling fins built in....have somebody with a good Voltmeter, check your "running" voltage, and see its not over 14 v when you rev it up to @2-3K if your voltage is high, that will pop bulbs, but it should pop the tail bulb too...have you replaced that one many times???? if all is normal voltage wise, I would check wiring/mounting if the mount alows too much vibration they will pop..
for a Shop book , check your local NAPA store..Clymer's/Haynes .also.makes manuals for bikes,{not just cars...cheaper too} and can order one for your bike for you..

Have you asked over at http://badweatherbikers.com They are a very active Buell forum. Good Luck, I know how frustrating something like that can be.

+1 on check the voltage, I would also check for loose connections in the socket or corrosion. If it is arcing from a bad connection this will cause voltage spikes that over time will burn out the bulb.
