I'm not to sure on the background? I bought the 1973 Sportster XLCH (kick start only)in late 1972 and I had it chopped on Easter day in 73 and the welder/fabricator in Sanford, Maine did a fantastic job and I only wish I could thank him today.
The VW trike was a motorcycle magazine ad that I sent away for, It was something like $695.00 plus shipping? I ordered it air freight and it came in a cardboard box with the usual shipping problems. The directions said 20 hours assembly time?? what a joke that was, 20 hours to put it together maybe but NOT MY way !. My first paint job was 13 colors in candies, pearls and flip/flop..
Remember!! This was in 1973!!
I was and am ahead of my time in paints
