Hey all,
Would like to haul more equipment and beer/ice down to the R.O.T. if I make it. Does anyone know of a homemade/used/cheap hitch I can go with? Trailer is 32"T x 42"W x 78"L (including tongue w/cooler rack). Empty weight is 150lbs. Max weight I want to pull is 250lbs (don't think I'll go over 100lbs of gear/beer) I DO NOT want/need a support vehicle (goes against the grain). The only hitch I have been able to find is over $200. Does anyone have a better lead/idea on this? I really want to go but want to be able to set up a proper camp for my scoot and I. Thanks for any and all advice.
Sorry, should have been posted under "Accessories"

I've done some camping and find that with saddle bags, luggage rack and duffle bag strapped to the pillion I can usually bring enough stuff to be comfortable for a week. Just buy the beer after you've set up camp and unloaded your bike. Actually, at Laconia, we had so much gear that my buddy just carried a case of beer on his gas tank between his legs. Maybe that's illegal? I dunno how he did it, there were a lot of curves and we were ridin' fast!

Put the beer in a brown paper bag. That's legal.

That looks nice, not a great pic on the sporty, but you can get the idea....

Thanks all for the info. I see the HitchDoc for the sporty is up to 235 from 216 last I saw. Sure would cut down on fabrication, but maybe I'll get some 2" flat stock and see what I can work out. Thanks again.
