Just wondering if anybody here is gonna be at the The Horse 6th annual smoke out? If nobody knows what I'm talkin about then you might thank me. The Horse backstreet choppers is a cool ass mag about/for home made/ garage built chops and bobs of any make or model. Anyway, they have a annual rally in Salisbury, NC. This year it is June 24 & 25. It's about 30min. north of Charlotte for reference. It's a bad ass rally you don't want to miss. There's always a bunch of kickass bikes that are down to earth and realistic in cost(not a bunch of tv star bikes w/ 600lbs of crome). If you're already familiar w/ the horse and thier event, then recommend it to others. Go to the horse website for all the info www.ironcross.net

Yeah behind the Best West. I know it's right behind the rock harley saloon. Is that the same place? Somehow we all might be able to hang out and bs about scoots and rodz. This year they got a drunk bus goin back and forth to the rally. I'm hearin the party gets pretty crazy at the campground.

i missed the S.O. last year, may shoot over sat morning havent decided yet, my bike isnt really S.O. material but would love to see if they have a swap meet area

Yeah I hit the Horse board pretty regularly - but that place is kinda iffy sometimes!

Was your bike in a show last fall in Sevierville? There was an ironhead there with a mura and some engraving - they said it was a local bike and it looked like a regular rider - I voted for it a people's choice best-in-show!

sunday may be the riding day around this area with a bud that has a bone stock CB750 honda, we try to ride every weekend together one day or the other

yesterday riding home from work my starter relay stuck in the start position inside and that was a frekin crazy ride home with the starter whirling away, got her fixed though :smoke

Looks like I will be going to the Dragon Rally on Sat after all - Not sure how late I'll stay, but I'll look out for an ironhead with local plates!!!

the rally is at the maryville speedway/raceway/track right? i think thats what i heard on the radio, and thats off 411 right? (never been over there)

we got close but no cigar, we had trouble with the 79 shovel, the thing started leaking so bad from the pushrod tube he had oil all over his back tire and the kicker ratchet started engaging while he was riding (making all kinds of racket)

we had to stop at maryville harley and order a new turn signal bar and lense for the 99 NT because the 79 shovel wasnt paying attention to the fact the 99 was stopping and the 79 hit the 99 and broke the bar and lense

my sporty had an intermittent problem with the petcock, she would starve for fuel once and a while but made it through the day

we left home around noon and got home around 7

we talked to some guys at a gas station and they said the speedway was pretty dead?????

Hope Maryville HD didn't soak your buddy too badly on the parts - but then again- they DO have to pay for that boutique!

The Speedway was OK - Maybe 1000 people at most. A few vendors were there, Amen cycles had a really cool Buell specific frame.

It was a mud hole but it dried out pretty quickly.

Entered the bike show for the hell of it and got 1st in the Sporty class, took home a trophy to go with my sunburn. Had to drive my bike through the mud to get to the show area and park next to the pristine trailered- in bikes.

My friends (who did my bike) from American Cycle Works got hosed big-time in the show. They entered a Killer custom bagger in to bagger class and got beaten by a stock Anniversary FLH. Their Pro-custom was beaten by an Eddie Trotta PRODUCTION bike! some dude with about $15.00 worth of ceramic flea-market dragons around his bike took $1,000.00 for best display, because he was the ONLY ONE who had a display! That same guy ALSO took best of show and got $2,500.00 for what was basically a catalog bike!!!

That was kinda funny.

But the wet Tshirt contest was REALLY funny... There were some SCARY women there!

All in all, a fun day out and a good ride there and back, but not worth $30.00. Probably won't so it again next year.

i almost printed out the map to the track and the guys said they knew where it was, we get into maryville area and the guy on the 99 went in to ask directions, i knew then that he was lost

took quite awahile to even get close to the track riding with those 2, i said ahhh the hell with it lets go to the harley shop and order your parts if ya dont know how to get to the track....i coulda printed the map!!!!

I've heard tell of big time police harassment in the area over the weekend...

i saw cops everywhere and talked to a few guys on bikes that also saw a ton of cops

Moonpie, myself and several other members of the so called "band of misfits" will be staying at the new super 8 there in Salisbury. The real fun is at the hotel. Lots of brew, burnouts, etc. I'd like to put some faces to the names here too. Hey evade, I'll call you this week, I'm not sure wher you guys are all stayin, but we'll all hook up there somewhere.

i did this because the campground said TENTS ONLY no van camping so....not looking good for me and a place to stay

my brother in law brought my trailer back last night and we talked of my dilema, he said he had a brand new 2 man tent i could borrow so i guess i'll be stuck in a tent, but i'll keep lookin and see what i can find

Got a hard ride in yesterday to make sure all is tight and good with the bike, already have my stuff packed and ready to strap onto the bars, and the weather forecast as of now looks dry!

It'll work out.....My wife has decided that the second we know the date is confirmed we are booking next years room!

well i tried everything, even a bed and breakfast that wouldnt give me a room for just one night it had to be the whole weekend and i'm :censor :censor :censor

i know if i stay in a tent with the wife, she's gonna get one of her migranes, we always had a hotel with A/C i could take her back to if she got one so she could recoup on our outings (did alot of boating outings with an 18 foot picklefork outboard for 7 years)

my :censor luck she'll get one of those :censor headaches and my day will be :censor

for some reason (probably to keep an eye on my a$$) she wants to go with me and i know she hates when chicks flash the goods and that will get her goin, god knows the goods are gonna be shown all over so i'm feeling that would :censor my day up when she gets :censor about that :frownthre dont know why it's an issue with her :frownthre
