Here are the results from my just completed 2004 883 Custom to 1212 (.030 over) conversion. These results are with the SE ICM right out of the package and the stock CV carb setup for an 883 with SE Slip-ons and an SE air cleaner.
First the details:
.030 over 10.5 to 1 Hurricane Thunderstorm-Dome Pistons (NRHS)
Cylinders bored by NRHS
2005 Buell XB Heads (Assembled by NRHS) NO PORTING!!! (yet!!!) ;)
15 degree Squish bands to match Thunderstorm Pistons
Screamin' Eagle "E" grind cams
Bub Jug Hugger Pipes
Forcewinder XR Air Cleaner
SE High Performance Ignition Control Module (7000 Rev Limit)
Nology Hotwire Spark Plug Wires
The Chart shows 90.46 HP at 6000-6500 RPM and 83.12 Torque just above 5000 RPM.
Can wait to see the improvements with a jet job and Ignition Curve reprogram, if needed.
Feel free to ask any questions or let me know if you want any other details. Thanks for lookin'

Wonder why you got so much more than Turbota with a set up not quite as advanced as his.
He had stage 2 Xb heads, 551s, 10.5 to 1s, se ignition and only came away with low 80s hp. Weird

pipe/cam and air cleaner
5000 torque peak is fairly high ...
but it looks like it's all workin together happily

So the pipes are good? I have the same pipes and keep reading that drag pipes suck, and was thinking I would have to change them when I was ready to do head work, cams, ect.? They are a stepped down pipes, I think 3 sizes.

Jim ...
90 rwhp ... Great dyno sheet, especially with non-ported heads!
Mine goes back on the dyno next Tues. I have dumped my SE slip on muffs for a set of 2-1s. Got the carb richened up and running better, so, we shall see now.
Jim ... Do you get much valvetrain noise with your .551 "E" cams?

Oh Yea!!! Tons!!! :yikes
Being as it is NEW noise, I had it listened to by a mechanic from Hal's Speed Shop and he stated that "it is a result of the cams and entire package." It is noticeably noisy!!!
As for the Pipes, I sent the results to Aaron from NRHS (since they helped with the project) and he replied that "Your pipe is putting the torque peak up fairly high in the rpm range, which has a lot to do with your result. Horsepower is torque x rpm, so the higher the rpm where you fill the cylinder the best (torque peak) the more power you make. The pipe has a huge effect on that because of the augmentation you get on the front end of the intake cycle, during overlap." (Thanks again, Aaron, for the feedback :D )

hmmmmm..........
I think someone else said the torque peak was fairly high too ... :shhhh :shhhh
:D :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh
and if you can get that whole package to work well up the top and give you good cylider fill at high rpm...you'll make good power......
HP = (torque * rpm) / 5252
so to make more HP ..ya either make more torque or ya make that torque at a higher revs

Ah ha! Finally someone is getting results matching a Buell XB 1200 out of a Sporty! Pipes are doing as well or a little better than Buell's too except down real low between 2-3k. ..Impressive results.
