Saturday moring was warm and sunny, the weather man said 0% chance of rain ( lier ). Fourteen of us headed up to Myrtle Beach for a day at the rally from the Charleston area. We enjoyed a great day at the beach and headed south about 5 in the evening. About an hour into the ride home we ran into rain and it came down in buckets. Just south of Georgetown heading to Monks Corner is a small gas station, it was really a funny site seeing about 25 bikes all parked out of the rain under the stations shed. We had a good laugh and after the rain let up a bit we all mounted up and braved the ride home another hour and half in the rain. Can we say one dirty bike and one wet rider, sure didn't have much trouble falling to sleep that night.

Longshot.

You mean you actually believed that liar of a weather man? :D

I hate it when they're wrong!

On a better note, we (about 25-30 of us) rode a bit farther north of you Saturday. We were around Scranton and Florence...riding from Columbia. Some clouds from time to time but, no rain. :clap

My son and I headed out to MB Saturday morning at nine.....overcast and cool until we cleared Awendaw, then the sun popped out. Spent a few hours seeing the sites and set up outside of Suck, Bang, Blow where he snapped about 80 pics on the new digital camera. We headed out about two p.m. when we felt a few rain drops. Running about 80 mph down Hwy 17 kept us just ahead of the rainstorms. Got wet once on that run, but dried out pretty quickly. Wife called as we made a pit stop in Mt. Pleasant and advised that North Charleston was experiencing thunder, lightning and heavy rain. She said we sould wait it out in Mt. P and she'd call when the weather cleared. Weather in Mt. P was fine so we headed out across the bridges.
As we crested the last bridge we saw N. Charleston under some ominous cloud cover. Turned to my son at that point and said, "I think we :censor up!" The bottom fell out as we hit Hwy 52. We only had a few miles to go so we sucked it up and drove on. It was my first time riding in a major downpour. Would have been more of an adventure if I hadn't had to worry about the boy on the back :)

Me and some friends were over by hard rock cafe at MB saturday when it started to pour down, We grabbed dinner and rode back to the hotel in south myrtle. On the way home tuesday we rode in the rain all day, going home on I95 back to pennsylvania. I was sick and tired for about another two days. I looking at getting a good pair of water proof boots now.
