I'm about to swap my bike to a 19 inch front wheel from my original 21 inch front wheel.

I got the wheel, tire and all of that. My question is, will my present spacers and brake rotor work on the new wheel? Are all front wheel spacers the same for XL's regardless of which wheel you use?

Thanks,
Kevin

Assuming the wheels are from the same year (or series of years), then the spacers are the same and the rotor will be fine too. The problem comes with going from 99 and earlier (tapered roller bearings) to 2000 and later (sealed roller bearings). If you have the same year wheel, but just a 19" instead of a 21", all will be fine.

Thanks Chris. My bike uses the earlier bearings and axle and the wheel is supposed to also (I have not measured it yet to verify), so I'm assuming the rotor and such will work then.

Chris gave me that same advice when I changed my 21 to a 19.
I put Wheel and tire from a 2000 or 2001. It still had the royor on it so I did not have to do anything.
Took off the brake caliber. Removed the axle nuts. Pushed out axle.
put on new wheel with my spacers.torque to spec.
Done
Good luck. It is easier than replacing slip ons.

I'll keep it for my winter project. I'm going to build a Flyrite chopper.
