I got bored today here in upstate Ny, I organized my garage a little and in the midst was looking the bike over realized hey why don't i flip these mirrors? So I did, I didnt relocate the directional, but I am gunna relocate the speedo soon. (Waiting for new bar clamp) Any way long story short I can see why HD did this on the new sporties and why everyone before they caught on was doing this.A) I think it looks better and B) With the mirrors adjusted right I can see completely behind me. I'm 6 ft 200lbs and Im a little broad shouldered and I would have to drop a hand off the bars to get a good look behind me, so at that point I got into the habit of just turning around to look. I think this will be much better.

I had a quick look at my 883r with the intention of doing this but dont see how it will work without relocating the indicators (turn signals), is this because of the handlebars on my bike or am i missing something?

Id have to see the set up on the 883r but all i did was loosen the little allen head set screw and angled the directional a little inward. On my bike the direction is on a ball pivot so its adjustable.

yeah you have to loosen the little allen bolt for the turn signals and adjust them or the mirrors upside down will knock into them....also make sure you have clearance of your tank when you do this. It will smash into your tank when you lock steering or turn it sharp!!!

Not sure about doing it with the directionals still up on the handlebars, but it sure does give a better view behind! :D

I have fitted the Harley 'Split Vision Mirrors' (P/No:92190-06) As with with all Harley accessories they are a bit expensive.
I have them mounted in the standard position and I personally have found them to be very good for a wider view including behind you.

Thats cool. I re checked mine and adjusted them where i wanted them and i could see completely behind me which I couldnt before. Before i had so many blind spots these mirrors where useless...I also had the problem of hitting my hand on the bottom of the mirror going for the levers which i got used to after a while.

ok, liked the idea, tried the idea and the bike is back to mirrors on top :( Didn't take into consideration that ya'll have bean tanks and I have the 4.5 .... DAMMIT. And not downgrading fuel capacity for the sake of inverted mirrors. Maybe i'll have to find me some short stem mirrors.

i am running a big tank too, got my mirrors flipped, but you are right, need a short stem mirror, i love the way they look, seems like it cleans up the bars a bit

Unfortunatly I need to be able to go full steering lock for things like pulling the bike from the garage between two cars and thing like that, so unfortunately no flipping till I find suitable mirrors :(

I need to do this....badly. In the stock location they are close to useless (for me). May do it tomorrow after work.

Did mine yesterday, and, wow!, I can actually see behind me now. I still think the stock mirrors look ugly (though flipping them does improve the appearance), and I am eventually going to replace them with the Licks mini-mirrors (unless I find some I like better).

with my stock bars I liked them flipped cosmetically, and functionally. No more staring at my shoulders.

You mean the mirrors aren't for looking at your shoulders?? Man I better do this mod ASAP. I've got broad shoulders and I'm always bumping the mirrors with my hand.

i have the licks mini mirrors, i love them, great quality too, very heavy for being small, actually heavier than my stock mirrors, and chrome looks fantastic on them

I finally flipped mine the other night and I am mad at myself for not doing it the first day I had the bike. Looks so much better and I can actually see behind me!

will work with stock signals kim.

Although you may have to loosen the allen bolt and move the signal to the side a little (well, I did anyway).

It works with the stock signals. I had to loosen up the right hand turn signal to get the mirror to fit though. Once I had the mirror in place you can tighten up the signal and it fits just fine.
