I'm considering putting a Solo spring Seat on my 04 1200 R. My question is about the tape area on rear fender under the stock seat. Can it be removed without damaging the paint? Has anyone done this? How? Does it just peel off? :xlrocks

Actually mine just came off when I lifted the seat to remove the tank for painting!!! Am also looking for a solo seat. There is a different placement for the screw that holds the solo seat down and I guess that the original two-up seat's screw hole gets filled with a grommet (for temp) or filled/refinished if the switch is permanent???

Advice or recommendations would be nice...

Warm it with the hair dryer and it will peel away clean as new!

Hey, Thanks for the info.

I used Goof-off after scraping the tape with my thumb nail. Also for the red rear fender reflectors, those suckers were glued-on pretty good.
