I know the pics of the big twin AC kit on my 1200R are gone but some of you liked the open air filter look. Well I got my cover and this is what it looks like. What do you think?

Gary Turbota 15th November 2004, 02:59 Barry .... I still think that the 'Black Crinkle Collection' early FXDX round air cleaner cover looked the best ... How bout a couple of pictures of that again. Austin-W 16th November 2004, 00:38 That cleaner looks great, what parts did it require to adapt to the 1200 engine. Austin... maddog 16th November 2004, 01:07 Looks great Barry. I have the Doherty Machine A/C which aloows me to use a BT air cleaner cover. I chose the Zippers Gloss Black 8" Round cover...Which A/C Kit did you use dude? Maddog ufaf 16th November 2004, 01:26 Your cleaner looks wonderful. Great choice! barry1967 16th November 2004, 01:42 I used a big twin SE kit # 29008-90A and a Custom Chrome carb mount with the breather set up part# 31658 on page 8.23. I was a piece of cake to put on. I also have the 8in black wrinkle round AC cover as seen here. I like the open air cleaner look and just got the billet chrome insert to cover the metal portion of the air filter. The first picture has been resized to get a better look. Austin-W 16th November 2004, 02:10 Thanks for the part numbers. Now to rationalize a new air cleaner after getting the sporty size SE cleaner. Last week of course.. Austin... I'm jealous. barry1967 20th November 2004, 20:07 Ok, for anyone interested I am going to sell a couple of these parts. I want to sell the SE AC kit and the support bracket with the breather kit. New the SE kit costs 89.95+tax New the bracket kit costs 75.99+tax I will sell both for 110 including shipping. I have found something else to try and want to pass these on to someone here at a discount of new cost. All you will need is a cover and screw. Thes parts only have 100miles or so on them and are like new. The filter is washed and the hose and breather are pre-cut to bolt right on your bike. First come first serve. Thanks Barry |
