I was haulin' ass the other day and was racing a corvette and found myself doin' 103 in 4th gear!
I never thought it would get that high in that gear. I've had the bike up to 120+ but over 100 in 4th?
I was shocked.

So how fast have you been able to get that scoot up to in 4th gear?

My speedo hasn't worked in a while, but when It did, and I really wound things out, I could just about hit 100 before I felt the need to shift. That was before I got the tach.

Mines a 4 speed. My eyes start rattling a 110 so I back out til things stop shaking around she has plenty more than that though. the 90 inch conversion has me thinking about loosing a tooth or 2 on the rear sprocket. I would still back out when my eyeballs go to rattling though.

I can go faster than I really need to, that being said I don't push my bike past 75 anymore because I believe that it is just plain stupid on my part to try to do that. I have no reason to go that fast. I will beat my bike like a dog all the way up to 75 but I will not push it over that, you have one close call at speeds above that and you will rethink about wanting to go fast on a bike. Once is all it took for me.

You are wise Confused89. Maybe you should call yourself LessConfused89.
I have a long commute on a tollway early in the morning and I get these bad urges to twist the throttle. Sorry I can't help it. I'm a bad influence.:frownone

Couldn't have been much of a race. A ZO6 is probably good for 180mph or more.

My Ironhead can go from 45 to 105 in forth gear. Ain't no fifth gear on my bike.

180mph was just a conservitive guess.

I've had my 4 speed (1987) up to 115mph in the 1/4 mile and my 98 5 speed at 110 in 4th in the 1/4.

His bike has 98hp according to his signature. All seems legit, and the times posted for the 'vette are with a guy who drives fast for a living. Nice job winning the race

Calculated speed in 4th gear for a 2002 883 is around 106 mph @ 6000 rpm, the 1200 is around 114 mph @ 6000 RPM.

My guess is he was racing a older model Z06, the new 500 hp Z06 should beat him in a street race.
