My son got home late afternoon, 14 March. Woohoo, looks great, is doing great, made the Commandant's List at WLC and now has 68 days of leave. Hopefully this coming weekend we'll be out on our bikes together. Thanks for all the words of support, he's a great son, excellent soldier and just very typical of many of the men & women serving today.

See ya on the road!

Welcome home,
and damn, 68 days of leave saved up. Usually my first 2 days I'll shave, but after that if I know no one is going to see me, I don't shave, cut my hair, still work out, but that's about it. Where is he going to be stationed??

He's now with the Colorado Army National Guard, moving to a new batt that is at Ft. Carson.

He will be meeting with the veteran's office at one of our state colleges after spring break to get squared away to re-enroll for the fall. Needs 4 more semesters then hopes to get in to the Physician's Assistant program at Ft. Sam in San Antonio.

Unfortunately the Denver area is supposed to get hammered with another snow storm tomorrow that will impact the weekend, then I have to get my left knee orthoscoped on the 30th so I'll miss most, if not all, of April. Looking forward to riding with him in May!

!

I loved Ft. Sam but that was 30+ years ago. The river walk was a great place for the week ends, and as it was I live in the DFW area so I could come home every week end if I wanted.

Thanks guys, I told him about this forum & this thread in particular. Even if he rides a Triumph he enjoys reading about HDs. :D

Keeps thinking about adding a Sporty one of these days.

He was @ Ft. Sam for his AIT 6 years ago (went right from Basic) & really loved the city, looking forward to going back again.

I was in San Antonio for a long weekend 2 years ago & had a great time. There was this one lovely senorita........ahhh, that's a story for another time & place.
