No worries mate. :D ace57 30th May 2005, 02:52 funny, i just did 70 miles today on my lepera barebones LT, and my ass still hurts, and its almost 12 hours later. i did injure my coxus bone years ago, and that may have something to do with it. however, i love the way the seat looks, its not a long distance seat, or i didn't buy it with that expectation. ace57 barry1967 1st June 2005, 02:25 Hey gronk, here's your shocks gronk62 1st June 2005, 06:28 Hey gronk, here's your shocks WooHoo!! :clap All the bits are comin together now. I just got keep all this stuff a secret from wifey :shhhh Thanx heaps Barry :) thunderpaw 1st June 2005, 23:35 Hey gronk, here's your shocks See, shock therapy is not the evil it's cracked up to be! :D I just got keep all this stuff a secret from wifey You oughta just 'spring' it on her! :D Oh, somebody stop me! Kim barry1967 1st June 2005, 23:47 The seat is sold pending funds. gronk62 2nd June 2005, 03:33 See, shock therapy is not the evil it's cracked up to be! :D You oughta just 'spring' it on her! :D Oh, somebody stop me! Kim I think you've found your calling as a stand up comedian :laugh :laugh 05low 6th June 2005, 20:44 I was thinking of buying the bare bones with the gel insert for my 883l. The stock seat that comes with it is terrible, but I love the low profile look of the seat. I wonder if this seat will be good for long trips? And does anyone know if the seat moves you back farther than that of the stock seat? HotRodSporty 6th June 2005, 20:49 anyone know if you can put a pillion with this seat? If so wich ones work? seajay 6th June 2005, 21:09 05low. I have one with gel. It is not a good day trip seat. It actually moves you forward.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/seanile/100_0080.jpg planb 6th June 2005, 21:32 Maybe so, SeaJay, but it sure makes your bike look righteous! My compliments to the owner! I'm finding I'm going to need more than one seat to take care of all my seat desires...I just got the Mustang Solo a week ago...it's going to be great for long trips, but I don't feel as "Sporty" on it in town...I think the Bare Bones would make it look lean and mean for short rides and get togethers...or bar hopping, etc....I think I need to make some space on the garage walls to hang two or three seats...need a two up seat for those times a hottie wants a ride! :D klown 6th June 2005, 21:40 Maybe so, SeaJay, but it sure makes your bike look righteous! I got a mustang 2up seat so my wife would be mor comfy when we go 2-up, the stock seat sucked. But that seat looks totally uncool for solo driving and it sits me up higher, which I don't like at all. So I got a corbin solo to use when I knock around town. Now I got the best of both worlds. The mustange sure is comfy, but I'm not a big fan of the bulky looks of it, what's why I only use it for 2-up riding. mailmanjohn 6th June 2005, 22:09 anyone know if you can put a pillion with this seat? If so wich ones work? i have the pillion for the seat also. i snap a pic of it soon. i rode on the seat with and without gel and prefered the no gel seat. seajay 7th June 2005, 15:05 Hey planb, thanks for the compliment. The seat is OK for the majority of my riding(20-30 mile local blasts). I'll probably put on the stock seat to ride to Biketoberfest. Bill2 23rd June 2005, 03:29 Man i've been wanting a corbin hollywood solo seat for 2 months but it's been back ordered. So the bare bones was my 2nd choice, but 05low said it sets you forward that kinda blew it for me. Or does anyone in the 5'10" to 5'11" range find it sets you to much forward? Or is it ok? gronk62 23rd June 2005, 04:13 Man i've been wanting a corbin hollywood solo seat for 2 months but it's been back ordered. So the bare bones was my 2nd choice, but 05low said it sets you forward that kinda blew it for me. Or does anyone in the 5'10" to 5'11" range find it sets you to much forward? Or is it ok? I'm 5'10" and I just installed my bare bones LT today and went for a test ride. It was rainin' so I only rode about 15mile so I can't tell how comfy (or not) it'll be on longer rides but the seating position felt good to me. I sit a little forward than stock and a little lower but for my height it feels about right. The seat feels like a plank to sit on at first but I think I'll get used to it :) gronk62 23rd June 2005, 08:01 Ok well I spoke too soon. I just got back from a 100km (60mile) ride and 2 words can describe the "comfort" of my new bare bones LT... Bloody Awfull!! In my opinion it is even less comfy than the standard 883 seat. Too be fair I'll hafta give it a chance to break in but its certainly NOT a long ride seat. In fact its only really any good at the moment for short half hour rides and even then my butt was screamin' to be let off it. BUT...It looks great on the bike and that is one of the original reasons I bought it. Ya win some..and ya lose some :) seajay 23rd June 2005, 13:31 Gronk62. After 2 1/2 months, I'm getting used to it. Went 70+ miles non-stop Sunday with no after aches or pains. When I first put it on, it was agony after 5 miles. Bill2 23rd June 2005, 14:02 Thanks gronk62 and seajay, hopefully it will break in for you like it did for seajay. I know in the past the corbins i had felt like a rock when i first sat on them but as time went by it broke into the best seat ever. With the corbins i could ride 300 miles and never once think of my butt. That says it all! gardkarlsen 23rd June 2005, 14:05 Hi Does anyone have experience when it comes to difference between a LePera seat with gel and one without? Is the gel worth the extra cash? |
