So I went down to one of the HD dealers here in Honolulu. Went with a friend of mine who know a few people down there. Met a sales guy who was a friend of my buddys. First prob was that he gave my a price of just over $14,000 oout the door for a 1200c. wow! then he told me if I Change any parts my self, i.e. pipes, wheels, shocks, The entire warranty is void. Is that true? I know that with cars, that is not the case and I believe it is a federal law that auto dealers can't do that. Anyway, no harm, no foul. What did I expect from a three story HD dealership? On the the next dealer.
Aloha!

I'd hate to meet your buddie's enemies! Welcome to the board, and yeah try to find another dealer, that one sounds like trouble from the get go.

I would walk in with a printout of the Harley Davidson Price sheet, and tell them if they want your money, this is what you'll pay.

If not, my dealer here is Washington will sell you one this week for MSRP only(No set-up or shipping) and then you can have it shipped to you.
You will have to pay to have it shipped to you, but it ain't no 4000 to ship it to you.

it potentially can void parts of your warranty but it should never effect all of it. if the problem can be directly traced to the part replaced then they have some ground to stand on and even thats a little shakey but if you change your exhaust and your chrome headlight starts to peel they cant tell you its not covered because you changed the pipes. its also depends on what the dealer is willing to send to harley and try to be warrantied.
