Woman riding motorcycle dies in collision with SUV

A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after a sport utility vehicle collided with the motorcycle she was riding on in Goose Creek, officials said. The woman's name was not released.

The motorcycle driver, Robert Mizzell, 46, of Summerville was taken to Medical University Hospital after Jacqueline Thompson, 57, of Ladson turned into the bike Mizzell and the woman were on, said Highway Patrol spokesman Lance Cpl. Paul Brouthers.

Mizzell was in serious condition at the hospital late Tuesday.

Brouthers said Mizzell was driving south on College Park Road near Corporate Parkway about 5:40 p.m. when Thompson, driving north, tried to make a left turn.

Brouthers said his department is consulting with the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office to determine charges against Thompson.

...I saw the footage on t.v......the entire front end of the Jeep was pushed all the way back. She hit that bike hard - t-bone style. I could describe, from experience, the type of injuries suffered in this type of accident, but I won't. Let's just say it isn't pretty.

Please watch out for people making left turns... It's one of the greatest causes of cagers killing bikers...

Damn it! I'm at a loss as to how to get these scum to show some respect and pay attention to what they're doing behind the wheel! I hope they charge the SUV driver with negligent homocide! :madhead

News footage looked like the Jeep caught the side of the bike across the grill. This one is still under investigation by the Patrol.

In other news.......a local jurisdiction had an unmarked roll up on a crack deal today. 2 baddies on a 49cc mini-bike. When the unmarked hit the blues, the passenger took foot bail. Officer bailed out and went after him on foot. Meanwhile, driver of mini-bike guns it, runs a stop sign attempting to cross a major thoroughfare as fast as he could go.....He ends up with a full-on "grilling" from a fairly large delivery truck. Bits and pieces of mini-bike and suspect all over the roadway. Last I heard, he wasn't dead - yet.

Nope...they'll probably charge the Jeep driver with an unlawful turn or failure to yield right-of-way.

The crack dealer on the mini-bike was the one at fault his incident. Unbelievable, but he's still alive. His momma talked about what a good boy the crack dealing, gun carrying fella was and claimed someone had "cell-phone" footage of a police car pushing the poor child and his mini-bike into traffic. Strangely, she has failed to produce said footage.
