Has Anyone Used A Race Fuel In There Stock Bike With Larger Cams, I Would Like To Try A Leaded Fuel Like Used At The Dragways But I Am Not Sure If It Will Do Any Damage, I Have Used Sunoco's Gt Race Fuel From The Gas Station It Is 100 Octane And The Bike Loves It, I Would Like To Go With A Higher Octane But When Is Enough, The Bike Pings On 93 Octane, Timing Was Set But Hd Dealer, Thanks For Any And All Help

You only want enough octane to stop the pinging. Any more and you'll actually LOSE power.

In the real world your bike should be timed to run pump swill. There isn't enough to be gained to offset the hassle of having to run fuel that is hard to come by. My cafe Sportster requires race fuel to run. I can only go about 100 miles from home before it becomes an issue.

You will not gain ANYTHING by using 110 octane Leaded Race fuel.Stick to the 100 octane unleaded stuff!!

Not in stock form as it just runs hotter than normal , although you will if you run with higher compression motors as they don't like pump gas.

I would agree with George here. Rather than use octane to get rid of detonation, back off the ignition timing. I am running 11.8:1 compression and have no problem with pump high test. I do know how to keep the engine out of detonation producing situations. Piston speed is the best detonation prevention, along with proper tuning.
If I ever decide to go racing again, I will use race gas and advance the timing acordingly. There is an advantage when racing, but not for everyday street riding.
