Hello, When does the "clock" start ticking?

No matter what my reaction time was, my 60 ft times were very similar.

Some tell me that the clock (for ET) starts when the last yellow comes on and others tell me I could have a 1 minute reaction time and the clock won't start till I leave the beams.

could someone tell me haw a sportsman tree measures time.

Clock starts when you start.

reaction time is green light to unbreak start beam (roll out), ET is unbreak beam at start to braking beam at the finish.

But ET defently need to phone home.

If your racing, RT is just as important as ET if you want to earn some money. If your sleeping on the tree your going to lose.

500 tree has 3 ambers and when you see the first amber turn on you have 1.5 seconds before the green turns on. It take .5 seconds to past by before the next lite will turn on until it reaches the green lite.

I was watching the 3rd yellow light... when I saw it light, I would go. The reason , I think, this worked is that I was launching at a low rpm. I didn't have the brass to rev it and slide the clutch out.

I do have a 2-step on the bike, but I have yet to make a switch to use it.

That's the way to do it, cause if you see green and you're still sitting there your day is done. 2 step's are great with wheelie bars.

Once you get a few runs you'll get use to it and will start launching at a higher rpm. If you strap the front end down some you'll be suprise how aggressive you can get with the throttle and the clutch.
