Nice job. That'll save you a hundred bucks or so. It's always a good feeling to do your own mod's.

Nice job. That looks like a solid piece of engineering.

Its nice to have a friend who has a machine shop at his house.
We also made a new bushing for the shifter pivot to tighten that up.
I only have a few miles on it, but the fit feels perfect.

That looks great Reb! Good job. Gotta love a friend with the right tools. Very solid looking without being clunky.

Can't wait to see them in person. I'll call you next time we go for a ride. You missed a fun ride down Rte 2 to New Sharon, across to Belgrade, Augusta, China, Belfast, Bucksport, then home on Saturday.

Being clunky was my biggest worry since we didnt have a good plan on what we were gonna do, just kinda winged it. It does feel very solid, that round (solid) bar btwn the two plates helped a lot.
It was pretty cool watching him use the machining tools, all old old machines but work awesome.

If Sunday turns out nice maybe we can meet up or something, Im still working on Saturdays, for a while anyways.

Sure, Im painting them up now, hope the paint will hold up, if not I will have them powder coated this winter.

I will throw up a couple pics once they are painted and back on.

Some (cell phone) pics of them painted up, might need to tweak my pegs a bit. Need more seat time though.

Those look good all painted up. What are thinking about the pegs. Are they uncomfortable? They look good from the pics.

Sorry about not calling this weekend. Spent the weekend in Greenville. Rode up to Squaw Mountain and Rockwood, too. It was a great weekend. Hope you got some riding in!

With sneakers on my foot slides around alot and its hard to reach the brake, with my boots on they work just fine.
Im gonna order some new pegs, not sure what ones yet, and Im gonna have my buddy make some that are a little longer and see how that works out.

I'm seriously thinking about mx pedals. No slipping on those. I just have to think it through to make sure I want to go that way.

Those are awesome and exactly what I've been tossing around in my head. I've been thinking of a way to get a little more "stretch". I'd love to get my hands on some of your plans if you guys don't mind. Either way, great job. I even liked them before they were painted. Good work.

No plans. We just kinda winged it as we went. When we extended the plate, we made it big, found where wanted the peg mounts, mounted everything on both sides then trimmed the plates to look good.
To locate where the pegs where, I just sat on the bike held my foot where I thought I wanted it and my buddy marked it.

Hey rebil, how tall are you? I'm 6'2", and could use some more room. Also, could you put some pics up of you on the bike, feet on pegs (like you're in the wind)?
