Saddlebag Leather?

I did a quick forum search but didnt find it, if its been posted already just point me in the direction...

I want to build my own saddlebags. ABS shell covered in leather, locking and quick detach. Ive been working with heating and shaping ABS for too many years to count so Im good there but I dont know what type of leather is commonly used for bags. Can someone in-the-know please steer me in the direction or better yet, link an online supplier for saddlebag leather?

I'm sure there are others, but a buddy of mine who does leatherwork gets stuff from these guys sometimes.
