Well, I had my 05 1200R Dynoed after adding my Supertrapp, Mikuni and Maliair A.C. I had several pulls, dialing my 42mm Mikuni in during the process. My best numbers were 78.9 hp and 80.2 torque. :clap I was more than happy with the results. I am having a problem getting my image under 200k with the software I have, so I can post it. My Supertrapp had 24 disks and we ended up with the Mikuni set at 27.5 pilot, 167.5 main, and the next size richer than standard needle on the second slot from the top. Elevation at Nashville TN. just under 1000ft above sea level.

You're numbers sound good, but where in the rev range were you peaking??? It would be nice to see the graph to compare to my bike which is running the Supertrapp with the stock carb.

I finally got my graph posted. It has the stock graph as well as the latest. The graph kind of spikes to reach 80.2 torque, but the curve is good. The horsepower was building until it hit the rev limiter; might have had a little more. You can also see what the A/F ratio is compared to the stock carb. It get a little rich, but the graph shows the front cylinder; the rear cylinder was just a bit leaner. http://xlforum.net/photopost/data/500/medium/June_6_2005_6_.jpg

Very good numbers.

It suprises me that your HP peaked at 6,200 revs. Most 04-05 1200s have a 5,800 rev limiter. Seems strange that you don't have a drop at 5,800.

As far as the air/fuel ratio (AFR), the graph you posted is just too small to see what the AFR is actually reading. Can't see the numbers.

If you look at my first dyno post, when it was stock, it shows the stock a/f ratio, which is also on this one, but better than on this graph. I believe that it went as rich as 12.8/1 on this graph.
As far as the stock rev limiter, I don't know why it would rev more, but 6200 is where it shut down.

Man that sounds like some good tuning, about a 17hp gain from a good set of pipes, A/C,and good tuning of that smooth bore. :clap As far as that 12.8 to 1 A/F that's pretty good for making power. Anywhere from 12.8-13.5 is great for making the most power. I think i would call that good, you really don't need anything else. Any more hp gains would cost alot more with less gains. Yeah you did real good! :clap

Thanks, I spend about half a day on the Dyno, but the price was reasonable. Even though I really wasn't very far off on the jetting when I took it in, it is much crisper throughout the whole RPM range now.

It would be easy for me to want to do more, but I don't think that I will. But.. I might get a SE ignition.

And i think all a se ignition does is bump it up to 7000rpm's and i think it also has the same timing map as stock.I just bought a daytona twin tec high performance ignition and love it so far. You might want to check one out. They cost more but they do alot more too. Like from the module itself you can set the rev-limlt in 100rpm incerements and the initial timing, advance slope. After that you can hook up a P/C cable to it and do all kinds of things. Check it out here www.daytona-twintec.com

Those are great numbers! I am amazed how much better the new 1200's run with a few bolt ons. HD made some huge improvements with the XB head and the new cams.
A new Sportster with some bolt ons will absolutely blow away a BT. Excellent.

Hey L.B., where did you get it dynoed? I wouldn't mind doing that to tune in my carb.

wow!.........congrats on those numbers. Very impressive.
Have you had any competition with the metrics? I bet you would more than hold your own.

Hey L.B., where did you get it dynoed? I wouldn't mind doing that to tune in my carb.

John, I had TNT Performance Dyno in Donelson do the work. www.tntperformancedyno.com
The owner's name is Conrad Theil; he has a lot of knowledge and is cool to talk to as well (he's from Germany). If you just want to get it Dynoed I think Boswell's is cheaper, but i would recomend TNT if you have any work done. I went with the Mikuni, he personally wanted me to put a Dynojet kit in the CV, but I didn't want to do that.

I am very happy with the way it turned out. I rode it 570 miles round trip to Georgia last weekend and couldn't have been more pleased with the way it ran. By the way it is also getting great gas mileage, which I was concerned about when I changed the carb.
