Needs some tuning, and an ignition. But here is my first dyno after the T/S Upgrade.

View Full Version : Needs Tuning, but it is a start swanem 13th December 2004, 09:08 Needs some tuning, and an ignition. But here is my first dyno after the T/S Upgrade. 1998 XLH T/S (http://hilmarliebengals.com/dyno.jpg) sportymark 13th December 2004, 09:41 What is your upgrade, presumably T/S means Thunderstorm? Nice to see you are into Jeeps, I have a 94 XJ 4.0. toe 13th December 2004, 11:54 Is that the rev limiter kicking in at 5200/5300 rpm??? twinsporty 13th December 2004, 13:50 Looks good. How about lising the details on the conversion? swanem 13th December 2004, 21:35 I did the standard Thuderstorm Heads, Pistons and N8 cams. I'm thinking maybe I should have done some other pistons like JE or Keith Black, but we knew these would work. The soft rev limit is actually kicking in at 5050, but since it is stock, there is nothing I can do about it. I'm torn between just getting the S/E race module, or actually spending the $400 and get the Dyna2000i with single fire coil. It's all about money. I have too many toys, yes the Jeep is also a money pit, just put gears and axles under it, I have a boat, and a child. I have tried to get rid of the wife and kid, but no one seems to want them :bump :wifemad I know it is running lean, but only in the upper RPMs, so until I fix the rev limit, I see no need to do any real tuning since the bike is still running good. skooter 13th December 2004, 22:03 I have yet found the opertunity to Dyno my bike but you guys are making me curious about this. I've dyno'd Class 8 trucks before but nothing any smaller. The sporty would be an interesting one to do. gwcrim 13th December 2004, 22:37 Those are pretty good results for what you have. Especially when you look at the new X based bikes! As for the ignition, you can probably pick up a used SE piece on Ebay or the Sportster.org swap. But if you want the ultimate one, the programmable one is the way to go. I'd be willing to bet that you can get near 85 HP out of that engine if you spent some time tweaking. txsporty 14th December 2004, 01:23 Nice Run!! Let us know what it does with a new ignition!! :D |
