Yes I've got one. I really wanted an open face, but my wife (who'd had to be talked around to my getting a bike at all) said it had to be a full face. The Roof was a compromise: could be worn as a full face, but the chin piece swivels right round the back out of the way making, in effect, an open face.

I'd have to say that I don't really like it, but that's mainly for reasons that would also apply to any full / flip face. I don't like the feeling of being closed in, and I don't like the lack of peripheral vision. I should say that I've now got, and nearly always use, an Arai open face. I can't even begin to describe how much better it feels.

The Roof does have an advantage in driving rain, but the visor needs to be cracked a 1/2" or so open or it mists up (this is true pretty well all the time). In theory I might use it in bad weather, but in practice it would have to be very bad before I'd give up on the Arai open face; if necessary I wear a cloth face mask thing to stop the sting of (most of) the rain.

It all depends what you want really. If you want a full face type helmet, but want the option of open face, then the Roof Boxer is still (AFAIK) the only one that really gives you this.

I hope this helps.

Looks like an army helicoptor pilot helmet. I think I might have to find one for me. I ride with a simpson superbandit most of the time and like the flip over instead of up. I will look for it and see if I can get a better price.

I have a matt black one with a black visor and it does look good!

The only problem is that with the flip part down it does sit closer to your face than a normal full-face helmet. There is also more wind noise at speed.

But I love it's flexibility. At slow speeds cruising I have it open with just the visor down (or open with sunglasses on) and at higher speeds I have the front down.

I always use eye protection though.

Finally I bought a Schuberth Concept helmet. Not is as impressive as the Roof Boxer but is more safe and quieter (and bigger  ). '05 model don't meet the EU homologation, and you must find old models to have an homologated one.

I didn't (and still don't) know what a "Roof Boxer" is, but I have one of those full-face helmets where the entire front lifts up and out of the way. The ability to lift the front at speed slower than, say, 55, make it a lot cooler than a standard full-face helmet.

Other than the fact that it is still a full helmet an is hot as hell, it is a pretty good lid. I had to do the full-face thing for the wife (though I have already convinced her that I am going to get heat stroke in that thing :D )

I got m'self a FOGCITY attachment to my visor and it WORKS!

If you ride in the rain, you have a full-face helmet.
If you ride in the rain, you know about foging-up.

This thing works!

I also have a spare visor that I swap-out when I don't 'spect rain.

Not necessarily...yeah fogging up...but I wouldn't use a ful face helmet for anything...to confining...I've never owned one....use a 3/4 bell I found at a swap meet or my German DOT helmet...Leather face mask in the winter and Skull bandana in the summer...I ride year round here in Missouri....never found a full face I could breath in...
