G'day gang, I've recently won a 100th Anniversary air cleaner cover and also a matching timing cover on ebay. An Aussie seller. I've checked the 2003 Sporty's on ebay and most of them do not have these fitted. Certainly they all have the tank badges and under the speedo the emblem, but that's it. My XLH1200 is a 2001 model. I'm in 2 minds, keep them as new, not on the bike... or fit them on ...
What would you do???? Appreciate your thoughts on this.
Best regards to all, Dave.

If you like them ... do it. If not ... put it up for sale on eBay! :D :D
My opinion about the '2003 things'. I would never put them on any Harley I might have one time! :smoke

I have to agree with MissyD, but mainly in with the tank, I dislike the tank badge for the 03 models. I am considering picking up a regular peanut tank in black and installing it.

I'm not sure what year you're looking for, but it just happens that I recently removed the stock black peanut tank from my '92. (petcock on the right) PM me if you might be interested.

At the time, the 2003 anniversary badges probably seemed pretty cool, but every time I see one on a bike, I instantly know how old the bike is... and they're not getting any younger.

Yes but that's the beauty of a Harley, particularly the Sportster. It's rebuildable and ALWAYS in style. Countless Sportys from the 60s, 70s and 80s are still running, looking good and holding their value. Ya can't say that about a Honda or any of the metrics.

... ALWAYS in style??? ... I've seen some horrible Harley on the road ....
As long as (we) Harley riders will pay these prices for used Harleys ... the price for used HD will remain high ... maybe someday the prices will drop. :D
Metric bikes do not hold value so well. But as long as the bikes (metric) do not have any technical problem, they may run as long as a HD.
And they are cheaper to buy secondhand. :shhhh

And they are a TON more to repair if anything goes wrong with them.
