Well, not much of a "chopper" guy, but here is what I've done so far.

1)removed the front and rear reflectors

2)painted over the black side covers with Harley matching Brilliant Silver (first time ever painting anything)

3)die cut the choke shaft and replaced plastic knob with chrome kitchen drawer knob

4)I just removed my front fender. 4 bolts, 2 minutes. Easy, I know. All I can say is, wow. It looks pretty good and feels great rolling down the road knowing I got no fender up there.

I know it ain't much but it's my first bike, its less than a year old, etc... Anyway, the fenderless front rocks.

I thought about doing it for a long time. Took me 10,000 miles to actually do it. Any of you lurkers thinking about it...just do it. :D

It rocks until you ride in the rain. Or through a dip with water in it. Just remember to wash your face after yer ride!

now ya got a use for one of those "notorious" bandanas, tie it on the sliders just above the tire so ya won't be ridin thru twice the rain

I was ridin the other night without a front fender and the roads were clear and all the crap that hit me in the face was aggrivating. The no front fender looked cool but the pratical use of the fender outweighed the coolness.

:laugh Kind of surprised with most of the responses. This is the "chopper" forum isn't it? :laugh

I rode in the rain with it on yesterday....I still got wet.

Last night I saw little bitty rocks flying off the tire now and then. I'll just keep it off and see how it goes.

I thought I would get ragged on in the "chopper" forum for having an engine guard on the bike. Ha well.

If you guys see a sporty rollin at ya with no front fender, it might just be me.

Peace

:smiliesig :clap
I've been going with 'full-frontal-nudity' for quite some time now and I love the look. Yes you may get "wetter" in the rain but if you're riding in the rain you're getting wet anyway aren't you? Sure there are rocks and tar and (insert any hazard of the road here) but they're there getting flung up from other vehicles as well. What's one to do? Stay home and fret or go out and ride? My choice? Ride...

I would get rid of the engine guard, but I use it for a place to put some highway pegs. I love having two spots for my feet.
