I'm a fan of the "old enough to know better, young enough not to care" mantra. But I certainly care more in my life now. Do you think they'll buy it when I say "But officer, I didn't know any better!" :banana

38 (almost 39)... I realized I was getting older when I was training a summer hire (temp) at my job a couple years ago, and he asked how long have I been working here. I said I started in 1990.. He said, holy sh-t, that's the year I was born.. Kinda ruined my day hahaha....

But I don't act very different than I did at 20, except my bed time lol... Parties used to start at 10pm... Now I'm in bed ready for sleep at 10pm

65 at the end of the month. Pension on the way - yikes! I can't figure out how it happened, though - I didn't intend it. It just sort of suddenly occurred by accident. Hate the idea of someday being too old to ride, but it feels like there's a dam' good way to go yet. The XL's some kind of time machine - once she's getting it on, I'm back to 21!

shadecorp
12th April 2011, 22:36
Still 72.
Some days feel like 73,
Some days feel like 71.
What the hell,
its only numbers.

Diximix
13th April 2011, 01:31
That's SO right - it's only numbers. If there was no such thing as birthdays I'm convinced we'd all live a heck of a lot longer. A lot of the time people can think themselves into an early grave. Oh, man! I'm so old - I'm gonna die soon! So..sure enough... Fact is, if I really had no idea how old I really was I wouldn't care a jot. I mean - I feel pretty good all in all - eighteen inside, just like most of us. Just need to avoid those pesky mirrors...

Age is somewhere between way back when and until then. Older than my teeth, younger than my tongue.
Some parts broken and gone. Some parts worn and need replaced. Some parts servicable. Some parts just require lubrication.
Have not achieved collectability. Possibly antiquity. Not worth restoration.

April 18th is known for many things but three that come to mind are:
>1906..San Francisco earthquake and fire.
>1942..Jimmy Doolittle leads B-25 bombing raid on Japanese home island.
>1950.. Mrs. Marie Spaulding Pike Edwards gives birth to a baby boy in San Jose, California.

That would make me 61 years old.

Thanks, guess its just the way I was raised, I'm a government contractor working on Fort Drum that stores equipment that units going overseas don't bring with them and I track the maint on them, I work in an office with people twice my age, they complain about the simplest of tasks, if they would just take the 5 seconds it takes to do some things instead of the 20 mins complaining about it. I guess I will never understand it. I feel best after a long hard day of work more then sitting bored with nothing to do.

I used to weld most of the afterburner parts, mainly Flaps and Seals....Rowboats,Adams,Eves,Turkey Feathers...as well as brackets for various Pratt & Whitney engines.
I also got to weld the first six sets of above mentioned Flaps and Seals for the YF22 Raptor Project! GE sent a film crew to all the vendors,to document the fabrication process, mine was welding down the backone of a Rowboat, which was about half the length of a conventional one. He wanted me to pretend, and I told him,"i have one set up,and it would be just as easy to actually weld it" knocked it out,one take LOL Vectoring engines, amazing.

Jbird,my wife's quote is,"47 going on 15"... Not without merit either.I have dirt bike riding in me,and it's tough to stop. In spite of wearing every needed piece of protective gear, including a neck brace,I've ended up with,in no particular order, a broken femur, multiple foot bones,my right eye socket, cheek. C,5,6,7, vertebra, left shoulder rotator cuff damage, tendon tear, broken right thumb, four concussions, plus many miserable post race days into the beginning of a work week.
I can't get enough, and am finishing up PT on my shoulder,so I can try and hit the loop across the street from me now that spring has sprung!

I don't feel 47,whatever that is supposed to feel like,I stay in shape with my job,and riding when possible. Ieat like crap, and dirk way too much coffee.
I amalittle worried,as I have lost a few friends my age over the last few years,a few of them health related. It got my attention, tough I still only go to the doctor when it's absolutely needed.

I officially become a senior citizen later this year (55).
But in my mind I'm free, white, 21 and have a raging hard-on.

But only in my mind... :laugh

I could, but after eight years of people posting on the thread, then to add a poll? That doesn't seem quite right. Plus, the OP isn't around to ask.
