As promised... here are the "demographics" on those (49) who have responded regarding age. But... first the disclaimer (statistics ALWAYS have to have disclaimers!) so there's no chance of anyone accusing the forum of flawed data:
1. Three who responded were from FLA and all three voted three times.
2. One person from Germany expressed age in metric units; if my conversion is correct, he is 171.
3. One person from Texas was not only old enough to remember the Alamo, he apparently also fought there.
4. One person responed from Down Under, and the numbers were apparently upside down, so this person is either 77 or LL, which I guess is the Roman numeral for 100.
5. Someone from WI consumed 7 lb of cheese each day for 7 days of this poll, and I suppose that makes him 49, though for some reason, no one has heard from him recently; he's "bound" to recover however.
6. Two Ladies of Harley replied and the sum of their ages was 17 (???)
49 RESPONDED
AVERAGE AGE: 43 YR 4 MO (+/- 12 YR)
10 WERE IN THEIR 20'S
9 WERE IN THEIR 30'S
14 WERE IN THEIR 40'S
14 WERE IN THEIR 50'S

Be 45 in July. Sporty is first bike I've ever owned. Having said that, I have 7 brothers, and at least 4 of them have/had bikes through the years, so I've always had a ride I could borrow. When I moved, I lost access to the free rides, and did without for 6 years. Last september I bought Sporty. First bike, and only HD in the family. I kept it a secret, and rode it to Bikes, Blues, and BBQ in Fayetteville Ar. (I knew beforehand my brothers would be there)
Needless to say, I was quite the surprise. It took me all weekend to convince them it wasn't a rent-a-harley.:D Now just 3 months later, I've put over 3500 miles on it. Can't wait for warmer weather to add more.
My wife says she's created a monster, but I've never felt better. Funny how when I'd borrow one of my brother's bikes, I never quite felt the way I do now.
Ride safe.

See quotes below from family members when they heard I bought a motorcycle....
Mom: When are you going to grow up?
Sister1: You're an adult act like one!
Sister2: Act your age for God's sake!
Sister3: You're a big baby!
Brother1: You have kids now, grow up.
Brother2: You were always a big baby!
Brother3(the bastard): Kiddo, you gave up your broom for a bike! (that hurt)
So, I plan to act my shoe size, not my age. But, if pressed I might lie and say 39.

Just how old is this thread anyhow. Seems like we went through this age thing one or two years ago. Anyway I'm 70. I see Shadecorp (69)and Lone Wolf (70) and me are so far the oldest reporting in. As an aside, it warmed up a little today and I spent all day working on my "spare" and "found" type parts street rod. It's more fun to scronge stuff than to buy one of those high price kits. Anyway you youngsters better save a little of your selves for when you get older. You'll apprreciate it more then.

Funny thing is, I sure don't feel like I'm 62 when I'm blasting down the open road wide open at the top end of 4th and then catch 5th just short of 100. It is kind of annoying that my cheeks flap in the wind at 70 now. Time was they didn't flap until 95. Ah, youth.
Old enough that I worked on a 1941 Studebaker. And a Hudson. And a DeSoto.
Hey, who brought this up?
