could anybody give me some ride reviews (personal experience with) rearsets, and which ones are available, and recommendations... Currently have stock 2-2 cycle shak slip-ons and plan on going to thunderheader... Keep trying to get a feel for the rearsets by placing my feet in the general area, but it doesnt feel as comfortable as putting my feet on the passenger pegs... Plan on dragging the bike and the rearsets will be a great help, although, still ride the bike on long trips. Have tried contacting chainsickle through e-mail but havent gotten any response.. Anybody have thier number?

thanks,
Brian

I have the Crossroads rearsets and love em! It took a bit to get used to but seems to be a comfortable ride. I think it'd feel a little bit better if the bike had clip-ons though. There are a few pics of the bike with the sets on in this thread.

You can purchase them at http://www.crossroadsperformance.com. The kit is about $500 (does not include pegs) and the passenger mounts are $125 (pegs not included). I used the Harley Billet Aluminum pegs that were $40 a set.

I had the LSL rearsets on my Sporty. They where ok. I wish they would have been a little more to the rear ... just like the passenger pegs. But this is a personal choice. :shhhh

ok.......... so I want to make my own. I do like the crossroads design, just cant see $$$ for the rearsets. Not when I can machine my own. I got the tools, now I just need the plans.

those crossroads units look nice... but overly complicated. and incredibly pricey

How much are chainsikle's rearsets?

$250 for the regular ones plus $25 for annodizing (either clear or black) if you want that. shipping is $6.50 for the west coast, or $8.50 for the east coast. hope that helps.

Chainsikle makes a great product. I am currently testing his '04+ rearsets and I love the riding position, especially when coupled with clip-ons. Very "Sporty" and very comfortable.

You'll have to ask Shane, but we are really close right now. Gonna do a couple of adjustments with my bike and they should be ready.

I have chainsicles for 03 and earlier with regular shift pattern and they are great. Love the price too. Here are a couple of crap picks. http://images.snapfish.com/346769658%7Ffp342%3Enu%3D3263%3E2%3C3%3E9%3C5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233639%3B92677nu0mrj

Doesn't seem like they move your feet very far rearward?! Rottenralph, do you know about how much those rearsets move your feet (rearward and upward)? I have actually been thinking about rearsets lately, but I think I am too tall to be able to ride with them comfortably. How tall are you, and how comfortable are they?

Don't want to hijack anyones thread. Just trying to get some more info! :)

The peg location (pre04) is at about the swing arm pivot bolt (height and rearwardness)

I think it is up three and back six inches. That is close. I think it is very comfortable but I have not tried them on long trips. They are far enough back to seem sporty and still be comfy. I used to ride on the balls of my feet and now I don't have to.

Thank you toe and rottenralph. That placement info gives more a much better idea of how I would fit the bike if I have rearsets.

Hybrid, I am 6 feet with a 32 inch inseem and I find it quite comfortable. I think you might be surprised at how natural the position feels. Only part I don't like is when I am pushing the bike around for the seat I tend to hit my shins on the foot pegs alot.

Thats one of the big reasons that mids piss me off so much, haha.

It is good to see that even though you are tall you are still comfortable with the rearsets. That makes me feel a lot better because these forwards are getting kinda lame! I was jammin through some twisties today and had to basically pull off in the middle of the corner into a grass field because I couldn't lean enough to make the corner! I dragged the peg big time and I couldn't lean anymore. Pissed me off, but it just gives me another reason to get rid of the forwards. Thanks again for the info! :)

To get a feel. Put a broom handle on the swingarm just above the pivot bolt and that is about where your feet will sit. That should tell you whether you can take it.

I have $1100 P.M. forward controls sitting in a box in the garage for the exact same reason. I just never fealt right with my feet out in front of me.
