View Full Version : Holy Cow!! 2007 SHR Jay Springsteen Replica
Elvis Nixon 26th September 2007, 03:39 Just got the new Walnecks and they mentioned this bike and the website. Of course I had to look... Check this thing out!! Buell XB 105hp motor. I bet this thing will absolutely SCREAM. Street legal too.
It's expensive... $26K... But a little more than the Storz conversion bike and less than the Lawwill.
Here's the link to SHR's site:http://www.springsteenreplicas.com/index.html
And here's a few pics:

shameless 26th September 2007, 03:50 Now that is one fine looking bike and the power to match. Sweet!
Gone 26th September 2007, 05:36 For $26,000, I expect at least 50 more hp........ Beautiful bike though.
roadster 26th September 2007, 06:39 Very neat.........way too spendy.........those wheels,ecccchh, just gay.
Kevyn 14th November 2007, 09:50 It might be less $$ to buy a 750 motor and frame and build it yourself. I think Jay would be more flattered that you took the time to build a 750 replica for the street than buying a 'Springsteen' replica with a Buell motor.
Nice bikes but real pricey. Who are the 2 guys in the 3rd picture?
And oh by the way, Jay has raced many different 750's during his career. One is sitting in the showroom at Doc's HD in St. Louis, MO. There needs to be another one on display at the race track in Springfield, IL. Affectionately known as 'Springerville'.
cootertwo 14th November 2007, 10:58 Where's the second carb? Way too much money, not even close to the real thing.... IMHO:tour
mold99 14th November 2007, 14:47 an xr replica should at least be a kicker, that would eliminate a good amount of weight, should have spoke wheels, and if you can ride it on the street, a convenient sidestand would be nice.
Bob F 14th November 2007, 15:35 Where's the second carb?
should have spoke wheels
a convenient sidestand would be nice
The right slider has the mounts for a second caliper, not very clean for $26,000.00. Both sliders have the fender mounts, again not a very clean look.
This bike would look great in a tee shirt store.

For the money it's not near as close to correct as Mert Lawwill's.
Mert's has the pipes on the correct side and the dual carbs.;)

And dual discs, kick stand, wire wheels, great front end, gages, turn signals, mirrors, etc. This is a great scoot.

Moved On / My Own Choice 14th November 2007, 16:57 HOLY CRAP, how'd I miss this thread.
Not bad.
HATE THE WHEELS...
and if it's got 105 hp, it DAMN WELL NEEDS DUAL DISC BRAKES!!!!
But not bad.

I don't mind the wheels so much In fact on another style bike they'd probably would look quite nice , but I believe you are correct, to where they don't work on that style. Nice bike none-the-less but way to much money. Think what you could do from scratch with that allowance.

I mean gimmie a break.

Todd31de 14th November 2007, 20:55 I like it. It looks nice. Kev is right it does need another brake up front.
As far as price it's a bargain compared to the custom chopper builders.
Jay rode in the Sportster series so having a Sportster type engine would be correct. But they were stock 883 and race frame wouldn't be. So it would more resemble a Supertracker but I can't remember if he rode them.

Mule Motorcycles Street Tracker
Richard Pollack’s Mule Motorcycles was covered here before but I stopped by his website and noticed he has a lot more photos up since the last time I looked. One project previously in progress has since been finished, the XR1660, and it is one of the best looking street tracker builds I’ve yet seen, though he has many others, many Sportster based, some XS650, some Triumph, but all very well done. A 1660? Oh, yeah!

750 motors from HD are 20,000$ + and very limited in quantity. and that doesnt include all the maching and tooling to get it right (cam lobes need to be pressed onto the shaft, etc etc)
throw that in with the other goodies and you are looking at double the price of that bike.
