Sorry for the length.

About a month ago I did the stage 1 on my bike. SE AC (starting to regret that), rejet, and python 2:1 (pipes look and sound great). Being an amatuer wrench I was pretty happy with the results of my work until I was putting on the last nut for the exhaust. I crossthreaded the nut on the rear exhaust flange fwd stud and stripped the crap out of the stud.

Seeing that I live in an apartment with no garage, I didn't feel like getting too involved with trying to remove the stripped stud, so I took it to the local HD.

I have heard many great things about the service dept. at Tri-County HD so I felt pretty confident that the work would be done to my satisfaction. They tried everything to get that stud out but eventually had to pull the head to get enough access to it to get it out. I get the bike back and everything looks great sounds great and rides great. I'm happy.

A week later I leave for Colorado. Trip was awesome. Two days to get there, four days in CO, and two days to get back. Bike ran great the whole time except I noticed that my rear rocker box (the one they had to remove) was leaking pretty bad. Then the next weekend I am on a trip and the bike starts backfiring like crazy. I baby it home and start checking things. Turns out that both nuts on the rear exhaust flange completly backed out and the flange was just dangling there - thus causing the backfiring.

Now I'm pissed. Basically everything that they touched, they screwed up. The rockerbox is leaking like crazy now and someone obviously didn't tighten the nuts properly. But I wanted to give them the chance to make it right.

I called them yesterday, explained the situation, and they said "Don't worry. We'll take care of it on us. When can you get it here?" I dropped it off last night and was told I'd have it back by monday (which is great because this service dept is usually backed up 2-3 weeks for service). I left a happy man.

Long story short, this is a great dealership. They made a mistake, they acknowledged their mistake, and they are fixing it free of charge. I guess that everything I had heard about them is true. They also seemed very concernced about keeping my business and that means a lot to me too.

If you live near Cincy, I highly recommend Tri-County Harley.
