I traded my 2004 1200R in at Boston Harley today on a 2007 Dyna Superglide.

I got a really good trade which I think was partially based on the air shock mod I saw on this forum. It had the security system, a windshield, pillow seat, pillow backrest + rigid side plates, the road king shocks, big sucker a/c, and gronk mod pipes. It was going to be needing tires and a battery pretty soon though.

The Dyna was at MSRP with a security system, and I got $7100 for my Sporty so I had to jump for the deal. It got paid off and I got a down payment which was cool.

Here is a quick pic I shot with my cell phone.

I rode it 60 miles on main roads before hitting the highway to get home. I got caught in a thunderstorm, and it was hard to see because of the fog and the headlight is aimed too high. I just kept going and got pretty wet.

Dyna's are nice, I traded my 02 Sportster in on a 07 Dyna Super Glide about 3 months ago. I still miss the sportster, but the dyna is just some much smoother an no vibrations to ride. Good luck with the new bike.

I'm going to go the Dyna route myself. I'm waiting for the funds to get my street bob. Can't wait. Though I took a demo ride on a super glide and felt the 1200 sporty had more torque. Ah well, the sixth gear on the highway will be nice.

Do you really think your new bike will have any respect for you when it finds out what you did to your last bike?

That sounds like you did make a great deal. That 96" and six-speed should make for some real road eating. And a 103" conversion is a simple upgrade. Add in the usual porting and cams and over 100 ft. lbs. of torque is accessible.

Coming home, I was thinking the thing needs drag bars. HA! It's started already! :D

I miss the eyebrow headlight mount. :frownone

103" must get pretty hot. I was noticing the 96" felt toasty, and there's plenty of power - I'm kinda afraid of it. That can be a healthy thing.

Yes sir, you will! It looks like you have the same blue too. It looks great. I like your water cooling. :laugh

Yeah it's clique but welcome to the Dark Side. We all have too bare our burdens. I bought a Road King in August and love it. I also got caught in that nasty rain last night coming back from Foliage peeping in Vermont.

What part of Mass/NH do you ride in ? :tour

I'm from the Lebanon area, and ride mostly towards Meredith, Plymouth, and Concord. I see that you are from Gardner, MA. The riding must be pretty good in your area too.

Have you had any problems with the denim paint Piggy? I've heard that even scuffs stick out and are nearly impossible to remove on the flat denim paints.

Piggy

Yea I've heard that too Fenny but so far not any problems at all. I don't take any extra care with it than I would with a regular paint job, in fact I use less care as I don't wax it. I just wash it when I do the whole bike and that's it.

Hehe. I don't know why. I hate the traffic to and from
there and never rode there.
I live South of Boston and ride down thru the South Shore
and the Cape.

On another note, how bad did they hit you on the prep charges?
When I bought my Sporty from them, the freight/prep fee was
out-freakin-rageous, and the CS sucked big time. I know they
are under new ownership so maybe things are different now.
I know a few folks from here who went up to SeaCoast to make
their deals. That was a couple years ago so maybe Boston HD
has changed?

I mistaked a lowrider for a sporty the other day at a guys house that also had a blast and an ultraclassic. I just took a glance from behind and guessed it was a girls bike....but he corrected me.

Nice looking ride.

There was no freight or prep charges, but the document fee was enough to roll them back in. They said it gets charged to everyone, or it would be discriminatory practice. I said fine because the bike was MSRP and got a good trade. Plus my eyes were like dinner plates looking at the blue paint! :wonderlan

I did it too, I just traded my 2005 1200C for a shiney new 2008 Dyna Super Glide Custom (candy red sunglo)... A clean slate just waiting to be modded, man stock exhaust sucks.
