So today I went to the other side of the island to another HD dealer. I have been told that this was the best in the state. They only had one new sporty in stock, a 1200c that was sold. They had a '05 883 that had 30 miles on it that he would let go out the door for 9k. If I wanted an 883 that would have been great. So he told me he had two more 051200C's coming in a few weeks. Being the last of the 05 stock, he told me he would give on to me for around 11k out the door. Thats about 3k less then the last dealer i went to. The only prob is that I wanted a black or that burgandy and black color, and the ones coming in are blue/silver and red/silver. So I think I am going to go put some cash down anyway and just deal with the color till I can get it painted. it's either that or I wait for a black 06 when ever that comes in. I think i would buy from this dealer even if the price was higher then the last dealer. The last guys lied to me about voiding warranty, this guy was totally honest and even told me if I did work on the bike myself chances are they would still honor the warranty as long as I didn't do a hack job. so, in conclusion, I may have to change my handle from someday808 to igotmine808. :tour Enjoy.

aloha,
Tom

It sucks that you guys have to pay so much more than we do for a bike, but it is cool that you are finally going to get your ride.

I've never been to the islands... lots of good riding there? Kinda hard to jump on the interstate though.. ;)

Yeah, the price of paradise, as they say. We actually have 3 "interstates". none lead to another state, but they are called interstates. . .H1, H2, and H3. The H3 is one of the prettiest drives on the island. It took 37 years to build a 15 mile stretch of road. At a mere $1.3 billion. here is a very interesting article with some photos. http://www.tfhrc.gov/pubrds/may98/h3.htm been told it is an aweome ride if it's not raining, but it rains almost every day there. The H3 is one of the ways from the dealer to my houe, so I may be driving it home. But due to break in, I will most likely take the long way home, past The Banzi Pipe Line and Waiamea Bay. Either way, should be nice.

It depends on your term of affordable compared to mine, I guess. We're looking at properties that are just under, at, or just break seven figures.

Yes, it does depend on what you consider affordable. 7 figures, is doable for sure. I live in a upper-middle class community, four bedroom, 2 1/2 bath. We could easily sell for $750,000.

So, come to paradise. . . lets ride!

There are a couple of 20mil homes near DiamondHead we were looking at, but those are just slighty over 20 times out of our range... more if you add taxes and things :)

I live on Oahu. I was working and living on Kauai for about a year. Longest year of my life. lol. Very slow pace, very expensive, and lots of chickens. . . . everywhere on the island. :headbang
