I tried to remove the two front brake caliper bolts but they seem to be a special type, my standard 7/16 fit but doesnt really feel rite. the bolt head looks like a spline, my manual does not list any special tool for this. am i blind or something. I fully admit that i'm a maintenance rookie but this is ridiculus. Im only removing the caliber because my rotor is bent(accident) AND REMOVING THE CALIPER WILL MAKE THE BIKE ROLLABLE. help if you can

Most bolts are six point heads, and you are looking at a twelve point head bolt which is the same as most sockets. Also later model brake hardware is all metric sizes.

10mm 12 point socket needed to remove them.

Rlutesy beat me to it.

Remember the forks are showa and the brakes are NISSIN - metric.

So yeah, metric 12-point socket needed.
