Finished stage one, new seat, highway pegs, pulled the handlebars back a little and a little bling. I really love this bike, it corners and pulls great, I thought I would keep it a year or two when I bought it then trade up. But guess what, I think I picked right the first time, who knew, I think I will have this bike a long time. My buddies told me I would not be happy with a 883, wrong, they said two up is no good on a 883, wrong again. I'll be around on this site a long time.

You can also use picture resizer software to make your pictures smaller. Do a web search and you'll find many that are free or low cost.
I usuaully save the resized pics to a different name so i keep the original in the larger size in case I need it later.

Can you tell me about the windshield? What brand is it, and how tall? Do you feel it offers you adequate help witht the wind? I'm in the market for a windshield for long rides, after riding my dad's new Road King I understand the difference they can make at highway speeds.

I have the HD QD windshield and love it especially for the long high speed rides. Part# 56083-04

it's a hd low profile quick release, I think it was $350, I only took it off for one day but there was so much more wind and noise I put it right back on, I did not realize how much wind it really cuts but without it my half helmet kept pushing up my head and would not stay in place, the only issue is it is really easy to steal, takes about 2 seconds to remove.

The bags were my splurge, 750.00 got them from the dealer when I got the bike, installed, hard side leather that lock, most people tell me that the leather looks better than regular hard side. I think sportsters look better without windshields and hard bags but it makes a better ride for me.
DM-SC thanks for the pic tip , lets see if it works.

Your bike looks GREAT man! Wish I could pop for some bags that nice for overnighters, but I'm on a very short leash now.....

Sportster Girl, how do you like the low, I was waiting for one but ended up getting a regular 883 because it was there two months earlier. I like the looks of the low and I think the tank looks a little better. The 883 gets a little more clearence but not much.
The low does feel a lot lighter off the stand.

Man, I love it! To me, it's a LOT lighter off the stand. The main reason I got the low over any other model was how well it fits me. The low seat height, bars, where the seat positions you, it all adds up to a bike that fits me really well. It's almost like they measured me for it! The looks are good too. The clearance has got to suffer, but I'm not much of a peg dragger (yet!).

MY aunt has an 883L. I haven't ridden it, but it is very nice. She's a bit taller than me, and after riding my cousin's 1200C, she decided she wants Forward Controls on it. She's probably 5'8".

Nice looking bike! I like the look. I think I'm getting a QD Windshield for the days I just have to have it to stay on the bike. I'd kill for those bags, too! And your scoot looks real nice as a two-up. I'm jealous!

Thanks MusclePump, I have a 12 year old boy who loves to ride so it stays two up. I sometimes have to sneak out to ride by myself, I like having him but like riding a little agressive sometimes to. I'm taking him next thur to the MD hog ralley for 4 days in southern Maryland, my wife is a nervous wreck.
