when i say xr conversion kits i dont mean glueing on a plastic boat tail fender with super trapp hi level pipes i mean twin carbs sticking in my right knee cap and left side exhaust sorry but i had to get that outta my system ive been looking on a couple of japanese harley sites (hot-dock.co.jp and sundance engineering) who sell xr1000 type heads to fit 1200 evo sportsters does anyone have any idea of a price on their head conversion kits? cos its all japanese to me (literally there price lists are in japanese)p.s. surely some of you yanks must make something similar cos us limeys are losing faith thought you boys invented vee twins (id better not mention 100 year old bsa v twins)

STD makes them but plan on paying over $2500 US for the pair.

Yes, we can get them. We can get the cams, too. The big hurdle is the exhaust system, you'll have to fabricate it.

Alan Sputhe designed and built a set of dual carburetor aluminum heads for the 1000cc street Sportster that he raced at El Mirage Dry Lake in Southern California. This machine was timed at 157 m.p.h. in 1977. Allen has been at this awhile.
