Atta boy Mick! Instead of riding, now you'll have all that extra time for wrenching.

You guys know. You said it all. Each and very week for the past 10 weeks one thing has fallen off or at least come loose from the iron. Not in order, but:
1. front intake pushrod came loose
2. & 3. Generator end cap fell off.
4. & 5. front exhaust pushrod became too tight
6. rear exhaust pushrod got to be too tight
7. & 8. footrest for fwd controls left side broke
9. trouble with choke mechanism
10. brake caliper bolts were loose
Yup, it's an ol' Harley, a shaker, an Ironhead. A real shake-down cruise, eh!? Gotta luv it.

snaked my chain
lost a rear wheel bearing
smoked my battery
lost an indicator cover
tail light took a leave of absence (without permission)
and shorted out my lighting system
but she never left me stranded

Some people never learn. That's why I bought an EVO. Of course, now the /90 is in pieces. Gotta get the frame powdercoated, but I'm too busy riding the Ironhead. Oh well, maybe this winter.

I must be living right then...my 20 yr old Ironhead has never given me much trouble..EVER! I did just replace BOTH sprockets and a NEW chain. Rear sprocket was Original too. Man..does it ride smoother now. :D
This Ironhead does not owe me A THING!! We have quite a history together and she rides as easy as ur favorite recliner. No Sheet!! :tour
She just feels "a part of me" if u can understand that...I just love this old' Ironhead.... :clap

Congrats on the sale Mick. You and Steve (Force50) both have nice irons. There is no substitute for "cool factor". :)

I forgot to mention:
11. side stand broke
12. clutch cable broke
They all either happened at home [both 11 & 12!] or i was able to ride home and do the repair.
Much of this is due to this being my first IronHead tear-down, and that i tore it all down to the frame and put it back together - perhaps not as expertly as i might the next time.
