Clinging to the memory

Casey's Back!!!!

Absolutely Awesome to see Number 27 winning the Australian MotoGP for the third year in a row. It was great to see Casey back in the lead after taking several months off trying to get his health back on track. Well, after a close fought race with Rossi "The Doctor" I think it is safe to say Casey is BACK!!!

Bathurst Time Again!!!

Well it is "Bathurst time again" and I'm spending the day watching the great race.

It is on and off raining down there today which is making for some exciting racing and the strategy of wets vs slicks is interesting to watch.

An unsuccesful day in the workshop

Well after success with my forks yesterday, today I was ready to tackle my brake project. I had acquired an XR1200 caliper, an 07 1200R master cylinder and a new brake line. Had brake fluid, brake cleaner and bleeder ready to go.
First thing I noted was that I didn't have a 12point 10mm socket for the caliper bolts. Tried a 10mm ring spanner but couldn't get enough leverage to budge the caliper bolts. So I had to wait for the shops to open.

In the meantime I thought I'd do...

Fine tuning my forks.... still

Quiet weekend at home so thought I'd work on Nyx a little in between rides.
First thing I wanted to do was add the spacers back into my forks to get my Works fork springs to transition to a higher rate again.

So I've put a 4" spacer in the right side fork and a 3.75" spacer in the left side fork. With 4mm of preload.

The 1200N has approximately 3.5" of fork travel. The initial rating of the combined Works Fork Springs is 34lb/in. The 4mm of preload...
